Lloyd, Mitchell, a brother of Mrs, James Ross, will spend a month’s vacation with rela­ tives in Detroit. Mr. and 'Mrs, John Lott of Pitts­ burgh, Pa., were guests for several days a t the home of the latter’s par­ ents, Mr. and Mrs. W, H. Owens. Mrs. Sally Foss of Cincinnati, has been the guest of Mrs. Alice McLean, and other relatives the past week. Mrs. Margaret Houchins, who is in her 90th year, is in a very critical con­ dition a t the -home of Mr. and Mrs, B. E, McFarland. Miss Josephine Randall has been re­ elected as one of the high, school teach­ ers in the Jamestown schools. Daniel Wine and daughter, Evelyn, of Ashville, Ohio and Mr, and Mrs. S. A, Glick p f Columbus were week, end guests of Rev. and Mrs. Gunnett. The name of Neal Hartman was omitted from the Third Grade honor roll last week and is mentioned here in recognition of the credit due him. Mr. Samuel Hemphill of near Pueblo, Colo,, with his family have been guests of , M r/ and Mrs, A. E. Huey and Rev, and Mrs. C. M, Ritchie, Mr, Hemplifll is a -brotber of Mrs. Huey and Mrs. Ritchie. Mr. Hemphill reports that he found wonderful crops on his tour EsBt, particularly the wheat crop in Kansas, This crop is expected to be one of the largest ever harvested in tha t state. Members of the United Presbyterian choir were*entertained last Thursday evening at the home of Mr, and Mrs. J. Lloyd Confarr, honoring Miga Mar­ garet Jamieson, who will become the bride of Rev. Albert Stewart Work on Tuesday, June 18th, A 'beautiful clock was presented to Miss Jamieson, who has been organist and director of the choir, the presentation speech being made by.MIss Mary Eleanor Bull, The Misses Genevera and Genevieve Jamieson, .will graduate from. Musk­ ingum College, Tuesday next with the degrees of bachelor of arts. Mrs, R. C. Watt visited last week With Rev, and Mrs. Walter Condon in Urichsville, Ohio, and attended high sfchool commencement, Miss Mary Eleanor Condoh, being a member of the graduating class.- Mr. J, W. Johnson, who lias been quite ill, suffering with an attack of heart trouble, with kidney complica­ tions, has been taken to . the Espy hospital in Xenia for treatment. His condition has not beelii regarded very favorable. ■ G, C. Brandon, 45, who resides on the Van Eaton road, was killed when .he was struck by a Dayton and Xenia traction- car near Shoup'S Station, last Saturday* He was an employee of the traction company. I t is thought that he became confused when a B. &. 0. train whistled as the tracks are parallel at tha t point and did not hear the traction , car ’signal. He is sur­ vived by his widow and a number of relatives in Indiana. He was a broth- ed-in-law of Mrs. Louise Ewbartk( of this place, Mr. Marion. It proved to be a ous looking object protruding from the 'loaded ,38'caliber revolver, the sheriff says. Edwards is in the county jail awaiting arraignment on a charge of carrying concealed weapons.
