' Mrs. Charles Confarr of Clifton is at the home of her son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. Lloyd Confarr for a time, being in poor health. Mrs. II. C. Gunnett was hostess to tn 6 members of the Home Culture Club Monday; The Columbian Trio, blind entertainers were a feature of the program. Mrs. W. R. Watt has been spending several days in Dayton this week with Mr. and Mrs. J, P. Schaffer. Mrs, Cora Crawford has been quite ill at the home of Dr. and Mrs. W R McChesney, suffering with heart trouble. Mr. George Siegler and wife of Marietta visited the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs, Jacob Siegler last Fri day and Saturday, Mr. Harry Lewis made a business trip to Pittsburgh the first of the week. Mr, and Mrs, David McMillan of Coleville, Wash., who have been visit ing relatives here for several weeks, left Monday for the south, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Turnbull enter tained the Young Msfrried People’s Club last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. A. Hart and three children of Cleveland spent the week end as guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mel vin McMillan. Mrs, Reed Pringle, who has been in Tusqon, Arizona, .for several months, returned home several days ago. Mrs. Pringle accompanied her daughter, Miss Frances Payne, whe went west for her health. Research Club Hears Story As Told By Russian Girl Members of the Research Club and invited, guest's enjoyed a pleasant evening last Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carter N. Abel. The members provided covered dish dinner which preceeded. the evening Program, Mrs, W, R,, McChesney, president of the club opened the meet ing. . Two musical numbers were given by Miss Mary Rgth Wham and two readings by Mrs. H. C. Schick. The Current Events were read by Mrs. J. Lloyd Confarr. The guest speaker of the evening was Miss Ina Telberg, a Russian student, who is attending Wittenberg College, a member of the Junior class. Miss Telberg is connected with the nobility of her country but fled to China with her parents during tiie revolution in 1914. Her story of those trying days was very interesting and her relation of the characteristics not only of the former rulers of days past but of present t governmental condi tions. She has a great desire to re turn •to her -native country to aid in educating the people but -such will likely be impossible unless govern ment regulation jb changed.
