The noon hour was very pleasantly- spent and at 2 P. M. the Regent, Mrs, Charles Ervin, opened tile meeting, the chapter Ritual being lead by Mrs. Harry Hammond. Man.* items of business were dis­ cussed and Mrs. Galloway, chairman o f Patriotic Education had arranged a'-shower for the girls of a Mountain School, Tammasee, Ky., which consist­ ed of handkerchiefs and other articles pleasing to girls. Mrs. Melvin McMillan read a letter from our President -General, and a Christmas Story followed. Christmas in the evening by Henry Van Dyke, was given by Mrs. Ancil Wright, and Mrs. Fred Towmley gave a book re- \iew of General George Rogers Clark, in which she portrayed this young life, who blazed the trail in the settlement of the North West Territory, who gave such valiant service in the Re­ volutionary War, ii is said he ranked next to General George Washington as a soldier and diplomat, orry to say he died in poverty, yet We revere the name of General George Rogers Clark.
