The chapel exercises for the grades last week were in charge of the third grade. Under the direction of their teacher, Miss Mildred Trumbo, they had prepared an interesting program which was given on New Year’s Day1 at one o’cjock. . The Scripture lesson was given by* Robert Hart, Junior Boa*er Roger Tullis, Ralph Dennehy, Russell Plenk- harp, Kenneth Hart, Mary Ross, Marr Qrie Vest, Hai'old Hart, and Joseph Baker. Each of these children re- peated mie of-the.Beatitudes, thus giv ing the Scripture lesson. The Lord's Prayer was then repeated by the en tire Bchool, after which a response was wasvsung by Betty Truesdale, The next number was a story, “The Fairy’s New Year Gift,” by Frances Patton. This was followed by a song, “New. Year Bells,” which was sung by Helen Robinson, Christene Willis, Elnor Williams, Robert Johnson, Wen dell Willis, and Robert Dueraom A recitation entitled, “Where Do Oh Year Go?” was given by .dale, after which Dorothy Jahe KfcH- enbach played a piano solo. \ A play called^ “Father Time’s Work shop” was next presented. The pro logue to the play was given by Frances Patton, after which the cur tain was drawn back to reveal the clocks in the workshop. Various kinds, of clocks had been made from cardboard and these were worn as masks by a number of boys, the boy’s face appearing in the center of the face of each clock. The boys, repre senting clocks were John Nelson, Fori Cooper, Harold.Wilson, Eugene Rader, William Ferguson, ’James Whitting ton, James Barber, Paul Dobbins, and Edward. Irvine. John McMillan took the part of Father Time, and esc 1 clock told him what ita work woul be on the earth below when it left hi a workshop. They also sang, “Die Clock Song" to him. Then as Father D ims and his docks le ft the stage* the en tire grade sang, “Good-By* 0 the Ol< Year.” . The New Year, who Was Emma Headquarters have been established in the roqm formerly ,occupied by,the Odd Fellows Lodge, In order that they may have a permanent location! donations o f chairs, tables, and coal oil lamps would be greatly sppre-’ dated. -Any decorations to make this, room attractive will be greatfully re-t ceived Is a community organization and needs the -support of people o f Cedarville, Visitors are always wel come on each Tuesday evening.
