When near Springfield their machine skidded into a ditch, A wrecker was sent for but it had the same experience and an­ other was called. Eight o f the girls are registered scouts, having been in the troop since it was organized by Mrs. Melvin McMillan, last spring, The girls are working hard on the tender­ foot test in order to become registered scouts. Each girl is required to be able to pass at least two new things' on the test they are working on or pay the sum o f one penny to the treasury.
