More loans were approved in the first 20 days of Oetqber than had been approved during the previous nine months of 1933. Rate o f approval was one loan each three; and six- tentha minutes. Milk dealers in Philadelphia were asked last week to accept amendments in the price arrangements between distributors and producers in that millp shed. The proposed changes would narrow the spread to distri butors without raising the price to the consdmer, giving the farmer an increase o f 24 cents for 100 pounds, The amendments were proposed following a three-day public hearing and an audit o f distributors’ and dealers’ books by federal accountants. Most people know that »go almost every tire maker—eager to make a sale—now claims Lis tire is built to prevent both of these troubles. But ill all the hubbub—Goodyear Tires out sell any others because of these facts: more traction than ANY Traction means grip. Brakes may s l o p your wheels--but i t takes tire traction to s to p y o u r car* And on streets flooded with w a te r, c a r s equipped with Goodyear Tires grip and s t o p •omucli better than any othertire that in to: is the next best skidded 10% farther—while others skidded up to 77% farther than Go$ 1- .years. Goodyear Tires give you tra e iion in the center -of the tread—and that’ s u l i e : o 1 c tire contacts the road. Blowout Protection in every Ply Everyply ofevery Goodyear Tire is built with Supertwist Cord—developed and patented by Goodyear to prevent tires from breaking down and blowing out Under the Strain of beat and speed. And every ply runs from bead to bead. Right before your eyes, at any Good year dealer’s—you can see why this patented ply material prevents blowouts, bow it stretches and do. -«s back long after ordinary cords have failed. * The best buy in mileage Because Goodyear treads are.tougher and wear longer—because Supertwist adds longer life to the body of 'Goodyear Tires — you’d naturally expect these tires to outrun others. Well, here’s the proof. The most accurate mileage records are kept, by tlie bus oper ators, and Goodyear Tires on thousands of buses throughout the country are averaging mileages that represent an increase of 07% In the past five years. Goodyears are better every year. Prices that say “Buy Now” All you have to do is to look at today’s prices to know they’re low. And if you look what other commodities arc doing—you know that prices can’ t stay where they arc for long. Com modity prices already have risen 50 to 100%, RALPH WOLFORD
