A parn, on the Arthur Peterson farm along the Pennsylvania railrod west of town w*s struck, by lightning Wednesday afternoon during an elec­ trical storm and burned. The barn is on what was once known as the Kyle farm at"the “deep fill,” In the barn were a number of rail­ road section hands, none of whom were injured. Finding the building a blaze the men started to form a bucket , brigade but not with success. The ■men sought shelter frofn the rain. ! In the building were three sheep which burned along"with 35 tons of Alfalfa bay. The loss to building and contents is placed at $2,500, .. A dwelling nearby was not in danger I at any time. Zell, 68, former auditor of Xenia and connected with the Home Federal Savings and' Loan Associa­ tion, died at l^is home in Xenia Tues­ day night. ,H<i had been injppor health for some time but only seriously ill for three days. He is survived by one son, Charles, a t home and Mrs. J. F. McLaughlin, a daughter, Middletown. His wife died about a year ago. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, with burial near Waynesviile, The deceased had been active for years in civic improvements in his city.
