Paullin farm o f 407 acres in Ross Twp,, was sold this week to Dr, N, T.. Pavey, Dayton. The later has sold his 247 acre farin’ in this township to Mr, and Mrs. George E. Shoemaker. The Walter E. McGervey farm near Wilberfcrce has been sold to John P. Smith, near Xenia. Elmer Hetsel is located on the" farm, Mr. McGervey is a former resident o f this county, being deputy,county auditor under the late William Dodds, . . Mr. Frank McLean o f Dayton vis­ ited among friends here-several days ago. Mr. McLean located in Dayton thirty years ago where he was en­ gaged in the restaurant business for several years. ^ Mrs. Morton Grinnell, 70, who re­ sided on the Yellow Springs road, died at the home o f her son,. Ceiling Prices To Be Placed On All Meats, April 15th To check the rising prices on beef, veal, lamb and mutton, now being paid- to fanners, the New Deal an* nounces ceiling prices on retail sales beginning April 15; Celling prices on pork went into effect Thursday. Price announcements are' expected Monday next. 'While celling prices were fixed on pork the supply o f hogs has been on the increase* A report from New Carlisle where many prime beef cattle are fed in­ dicates farmers did not feed as many steers the past winter and would not even equal the 1942 feed lot number fo r the coming winter. Farmers can maintain good market prices fo r all live stock by not over­ loading the market* The New Deal has adopted i 'tioning to hold down farm prices on all live stock .. Refreshments o f choco­ late milk and cookies were served at the intermission. The Chi‘ Mu Delta-Fraternity re­ cently donated a quantity o f linoleum to the college hoarding club; The linoleum is being used to cover table- tops’ at the club. Money was ap­ propriated from the frat’s treasury in order to cover the expense. Spring vacation began Thursday, School will be resumed Monday morn­ ing. Several of the boys are taking advantage o f the vacation to work on the college farm. Rev. H, H. Abels o f the local Meth odist Church gave a talk at the col­ lege chapel program Tuesday morn­ ing. The Rev. Mr. Abels spoke on the topic, “ What? is Religion ” It is-uncertain whether a baseball schedule 'Will be played this spring at Cedarville College. However, sev­ eral o f the boys are working out reg­ ularly on the high school diamond.. Second Lieutenant Elwood Shaw is home *on furlough after successfully completing the Officers Training Course, He visited Cedarville Col­ lege, from which he graduated in 1939. He continued here doing post graduate work and teaching some classes. Lt. Shaw spent part of Mon­ day and Wednesday at liis alma mater. ■ ■ *. Tames Tracy Died Wednesday P. M. Word was received here o f the1 death o f James Tracy, 75, at his home. n Springfield, Wednesday afternoon it 2 P. M.,. following a long illness !.ue to heart trouble.. r The deceased was born in Cedar- ille and upon leaving school took ip the bakery trade undler the late acob Siegler. Leaving here he lo­ oted fn Springfield where he worked it"his trade for a few years and fin­ ely engaged in business himself. Ba­ ng, successful he opened and sold his msiness two different* times. He had required considerable property in ;his ity. Mr. Tracy stood high among the making interests in the state and was trged to take an appointment under he late Gov. Frank Willis, as bakery nspector in Ohio. He held this oosition until two years ago und^r lifferent governors when forced to esign owing to failing1 health. In ecent years he has spent the winter n St. Petersburg, Florida* ' Mr, Tracy was a Mason, Scottish Rite and Shriner; also a member o f 1 he I, O* Q. F., Knights o f Pythias and United Commercial1Travelers. He is survived by his widow, Nora M, and one 'daughter, Mrs. Robert Ar- bogast, Troy, O. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with burial in Ferncliff Cemetery. Cedariile Twp.
