C„ Miss Betty Jean Brown became the^JbrkJe of Lieutenant LeRoy M. Hearing of* the USNR on Saturday afternoon, April 15th, The impres­ sive single- ring ceremony was- read by the Reverend Morrison befojje the altar banked with flowers and palms. The bride, who was given in mar­ riage by her father, was gowned in white satin fashioned- along simple lines with full skirt-and long train. Her veil was held in place by a small tiara fashioned of chiffon and seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, Her matron of, honor, and only attendant, was Mrs. Ru­ dolph Bares, who wore a floor length. dress of pink marquisette. Her bou­ quet was spring flowers of soft pastel shades. ■■ Lieutenant Jack Crawford o f the USN served as best man and the ush­ ers Lt. William C. Barry, Lt. John K. Leviclf, ' and Clarence J. Brown, Jr. ‘ Lt, Emil Velazco presided at the or­ gan. ■ • • Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Congressional Club ■for the bride and groom. With them, in the receiving line were the blade’s mother, who wore a lovely afternoon ensemble of blue crepe and a shoulder bouquet of gardenias} and the groom's mother, wearing a sheer black crepe afternoon dress with a corsage o f gar­ denias. Following the serving of re­ freshments the wedding cake was cut by the bride and groom., using a naval sword for the occasion. Just before their departure the. hap­ py couple appeared on the balcony overlooking the reception room of the. Club, from which the bride tossed her bridal bouquet to the waiting friends below. The new Mrs. Dearing is the daugh­ ter of Representative and Mrs.. Clar­ ence J. Brown of Blanchester, Ohio and Washington, D. C. and is a grad­ uate, of Duke University, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and White Duchy' During the war emergency she has been, en- gagd in personal work, in •Washing­ ton. • 1 Lt. Dearing, who is attached to the Photographic, Laboratories of the Na\iy, received his Degree at Ohio State .'University and is a member of Gamma Alpha and Sigma Fraterni­ ties. Prior to entering the service, he was engaged in photographic research a t ’Rochester, N. Y. ■ After a short wedding trip to Sea Island, Georgia, Lieutenant and Mrs. Dearing will be at home to their friends at 41X19 Davis Place, N. W., Washington, D. C.
