Williamson is a member of the Aviation Cadet Class 44-J th a t will be graduated to the advanced school a t Moody Field, Valdosta, G*., and Turney' Field, Albany, Ga. More than 7,600 aviation cadets have been graduated since the school opened (jn December, 1941,' ■ / Douglas Cultice, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cultice, ha]s been suffering from blood poisoning when a playmate accidenaly fan a pointed lead pencil in his arm. For a time his condition was serious but from late reports he is much improved. Mrs, Joseph Flatter has returned from Holyoke, Mass, after a two- month visit with her husband who was in the gunnery school there. Private Flatter has been advanced to another gunner school at Los Vegas, Nevada, where he entered last week. Cedarville Chapter 418 0. E. Because of the slightly overcrowded conditions in grades one and ,three, Mrs. Evans will have about 12 regular pupils from the first grade and 14 1 from the' third grade during'the first six weeks period in order to provide more personal instruction for all the pupils in those grades. Later the ^‘opportunity room’’ will provide ad ditional intensive instruction for any: pupil in grades one to three: Pupils will be assigned to the Opportunity Room on a temporary basis and will be returned to the regular room as soon as possible. Bert Jacks, Jamestown, brother in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lillich, east of Cedarville, was a member, of the 90th Division which was paid tribute by Thomas R./ Henry, Wash ington Star Correspondent with the Division in Normandy, appearing in the “Star" July 30. "It had been one of the fiust. American Divisions to land in Normandy and had taken majer part in the reduction of Cher bourg. It*had come with head bloody but unbowed through what was prob ably the fiercest baptism of fire un dergone by any new. American Div ision in this war.” Henry described in the article the part the division played in the battle for the Fort de Mont Castre, called the most dramatic of the Normandy campaign, Henry was a member of the 90th Division in World War I.
