AULTMAN, Attorney for Plaintiff LEGAL NOTICE President Vayhinger returned early Friday morning from Elgin, 111., where he attended a three-day session of the annual national meeting of those interested in rural church work. The gathering was under the auspices of the National Home Missions Coun­ cil and thei Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America. Fif­ teen denominations sent 618 delegates from 40 states. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss factors that enter into the building of the town and country church. Nationally known speakers were heard at the general sessions. The down-to-brass- tacks work, was done in discussion groups of 15 or 20, where special problems, such as the preparation of rural, pas­ tors, were studied. Theodore ‘Ted’ James, ’41, a senior at McCormick Theological Seminary was present. “Ted” spent last year as a rural pastor- in Illinois as his “in­ ternship” in preparation for rural church work. One part of his work was the taking of a special 8-weeks course on rural work at the University of Illinois ldst summer. SPRINGFIELD.
