UNUSUAL SERVICE BY MEN Washington Letter (Continued from firot pago) Bowles, just about ended the political honeymoon o f the new Chief Execu tive, as fa r as Capitol Hill is concern ed, for every Congressional Commit tee which has made any investigation o f the food situation has unanimously condemned OPA practices and strong ly criticised Mr. Bowles’ administra tion of the Price Control Act. Food shortages are growing. Black mark et operations abound everywhere in almost every rationed commodity. The Congressional Committees charge unwise OPA price ceilings have not only caused many present food short ages, but have endangered future food production as well. Already the government’s propaganda machine is busy grinding out excusses to why the American people must drastically reduce food consumption in the months ahead. While food require ments for the liberated and conquer* ed areas o f Europe will " he heavy, they could have been met in a reason able fashion, with out hardship to A- merican citizens, if just a little bit o f common sense had been used by our bureaucratic officials in meeting our food problems. | There was an unusual church aer- i vice in charge o f the men at the U.
