The young people will meet at seven-thirty o'clock and will study the topic “Star gazing reveals God.” Society HONORED AT SHOWER Mrs. Alva Sagraves, 937 North Detroit street Xenia, was hos­ tess at a shower Friday after­ noon honoring Mrs. Millard French (Margaret Stormont), South Solon, a recent bride. Contest prizes were won by Mrs, French and also by Mrs. Lauris Straley and Mrs. Merle Stormont, who presented them to the bride. An array of gifts was placed on a table over which was an umbrella decorated with pink and white streamers. Refresh­ ments in pink and white appoint, ments were served and the home was decorated with summer flow­ ers. Thirty-three guests were present. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr: and Mrs. John Williams, Cincinnati; pike, Xenia are an­ nouncing the engagement of their daughter, Earlene, to Pfc. Mack West, son of Mrs. Roy Willis, Cedarville. Miss Williams is a graduate of Spring Valley high school and attended Asbury college, Wilmore Ivy. Pfc. West,, a graduate of Xenia Central high school, is now serving with the army in Rapid City, S. D. No date has been set for the wedding. FETED AT SHOWER Mrs, Max Dawes, Jamestown, a recent bride, was honored at a miscellaneous “shower” Wednes­ day evening at the home of Mrs. Hershel Dawes, Cedarville. Mrs. Dawes, Mrs. Roy Goodbar, Ce­ darville, and Mrs. James Palmer, Jamestown, were hostesses. The hostesses entertained with contests and prizes were awarded the winners, after which an ice course in pink and white appoint­ ments was served. Summer flow­ ers decorated the home.
