Soft Corn Makes Fine Lambs Soft corn and thin lambs are a combination to provide a profit able way to sell the corn and at the same time increase a scarce supply o f meat. The 1947 lamb crop is the smallest in 25 years and lambs make better use of soft corn than any other class of livestock except yearling cattle. Lambs make good use o f chopp ed, broken ox* whole ears of soft coi-n. This method of feeding avoids- the trouble o f shelling im mature corn which does not shell easily.' Lambs will feed out better if they are clipped before being put on feed, and they should he treated fo r parasites. Soft corn left in the field or cribbed after cold weather arrives will he good until temperatures start rising next spring. Crossbred Hog Pay Crossbx'eeding hogs produced good results at the Miami County Experiment Farm. The practice resxilted in $iore pigs saved per litter, faster gains, and heavier final market weights. Cross breeding utilized merits that are characteristic o f different pure bred hogs. Crossbred scrubs re main scrubs. Legal Notice, NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT Estate o f Harriet Robinson, de ceased.
