Mr. Dobbins, son o f Mr. and Mrs 4 Fred Dobbins, near Cedar­ ville, .is a graduate o f Cedarville High School and attended Purdue University. He is engaged in farming. ATTENDANT CHOSEN Miss Catherine Ferguson, near Clifton, who will become the bride o f William H. Kyle, near Xenia, in the Clifton United Pres­ byterian church Nov. 29, will have her sister, Miss Nancy Fer­ guson, as her maid of honor and •only attendant. The wedding will take place in an open church ceremony at 8:30 p. m. Dr. John W. Bickett, pastor o f the church, will officiate at the service. Dalton Drake, Elizabeth, N. J., former Xenian, will serve as best man. A reception fo r 125 guests will be held at the Ferguson home following the service. Miss Ferguson, who resigned Nov. 1 as chief deputy in the of­ fice of County Recorder E. D. Beatty, was honored recently by thq Young Women’s Missionary Society of the Clifton U. P. church at a meeting'at the home of Misses Margie and Jean Brad- fute, near Cedarville. Miss Fer­ guson, vice president of the so­ ciety was presented a g ift by the group. Miss Ferguson is the daughter of Mrs. William B. Ferguson, Old Town-CIifton pike. Mr. Kyle is BAR DINNER Challenging his audience “ to prove that this nation is loyal to the name o f a Christian nation,” Rev. John Abemethy, pastor of the Presbyterian church, Wash­ ington C. H., delivered an Armis­ tice day address to members of Cedar Cliff chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, ajml guests at a dinner meeting at the United Presbyterian church Tuesday flight. Seventy-three m e m b e r s and guests attended ifie dinner fo r which the chapter’s executive board was hostess. A comparison between the sign­ ing o f the armistice at the end o f World War I on Nov. 11, 1918 and the signing o f the Mayflower compact on Nov. 11, 1620 was made by Rev. Aber 'ethy, who said: “ The pilgrims banded to­ gether fo r the glory of God and allegiance to their king.” In con­ clusion, he said: “ See to it that this day which we call Armistice day is not a farce. We are a great country so let us prove to every­ one our nation is loyal to the name of a Christian nation.” Rev. Paul Elliott, pastor of the Presbyterian church, offered thp invocation and Mrs, M. J. Bahin, shapter regent, presided. James Steel, Cedarville, sang turn* solos: “ Sapphische Qde,” by Brahms) “ To You,” by Strauss and “ The Two Grenadiers,’* by Schumann. Mrs. Harold Price, Xenia, played two violin solos: “ Gavotte,” by Gorsee, and “ Sere­ nade,” by Schubert. Mrs. Paul Elliott was accompanist. WILT - DOBBINS In a Ceremony solemnized in the home o f the bride’s parents, Miss Louise Wilt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wilt, Jefferson­ ville, became the bride o f Robert Dobbins, near Cedarville, Thurs­ day at 7:30 p. m. Rev: C. P. Miller, pastor o f the Jeffersonville Methodist church, read the double ring service. . Baskets of. yellow chrysanthe­ mums and other fall flowers deco­ rated the Wilt home fo r the serv­ ice at which only members of the immediate families were present. Miss Norma Jean Wilt, sister o f the bride, and Paul Dobbins, brother o f the bridegroom, were attendants. The bride wore a blue crepe dress with harmonizing accessories and a corsage o f red roses and yellow chrysanthe­ mums. Her sister appeared in a green crepe frock and her flowers were bronze chrysanthemums. An ice course was served fol­ lowing the service.
