Friday, June 3 , 1940 NIFTY CEDAR GALS The N ifty Cedar Gals 4-H club enjoyed a weiner roast Thursday at the roadside park. Faye Hus­ ton, president presided at the business meetin. The recreation was a soft ball frame. Mrs. J. B. Crumrine is leader of the group. The next meeting will be June 2 at the Crumrine home. Janet Crumrine and Faye Huston will be hostesses. MISSIONARY SOCIETY Airs. Jack Kritzer assisted by Mrs. David Ramsey entertain­ ed the Missionary Society of the First Presbyterian church at her home Thursdav. Devotions were in charge o f Mrs. Ramsey and a book report, “ Chengs Mother” by Irene Sorsythe was given by Mrs. Charles Stormont. GOLDEN RULE CLASS The Golden Rule class met in tiie Methodist church Thursday evening. Mrs. Charles Spurgeon had devotions. Games and con­ tests were in charge o f Leola Corn. Hostesses for the evening were Airs. Lloyd Devoe, Mrs. Grace Barlow and Mrs. Etta Smith. MISSIONARY SOCIETY OF THE CHURCH OF GOD The Missionary Society of the Church of God met at the home o f Mrs. Ora Tingley. Mrs. David Strobridge was in charge o f the devotionals and program. Mrs. Tingley was assisted bv Mrs, Elwood Palmer in serving re­ freshments. WEEKEND GUEST Miss Katharine Strong of Cin­ cinnati was the weekend guest of Miss Josephine Randall, RETURN FROM TRIP Miss Blanche Turnbull of Day- ton and Beth and Jimmy Turn- bull are home after a 10 days trio to Washington D. C, and Atlantic City. Miss Turnbull at- Association Convention in At­ lantic City. The trip was a grad­ uation present for Beth. GRADUATES ENTERTAINED ' Members of the Cedarville Col­ lege faculty entertained the grad­ uates and their families in the Co-op building Friday evening. A going away gift was pre­ sented to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huish. Refreshments were serv­ ed, by Airs. Vayhinger, Airs. Kling and Mrs. Beattie. ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT Announcement is being made of the approaching marriage of Miss Wanda Jean Deger, daugh­ ter of Mr. and Airs. Horace S. Deger, Wilmington pike, to Mar­ vin W. Neff. The bridegroom- elect is the son of Mr. and Airs. Wilbur Neff, near Washington G. II., former Greene Countians. The couple will be married Sunday at 3 p m. in an open service a t ' the NewBurlington Alethodist Church. Rev. C. A. Arthur pastor o f the church will officiate at the ceremony. For her matron of honor the bride will have Mrs. William Clevelle, Cedarville sister of the bridegroom. Helen Beam will be flower girl. Mr. Maynard Neff, brother of the bridegroom, will serve as best man and also will be an ush­ er. The other usher will be Mr. William Clevelle the bride groom’s brother-in-law. PROGRESSIVE FARAIERS HOLD' MEETING The bi-monthly meeting of the Cedarville Progressive Farmers 4-H club was held at the home of George Pitstick, Wednesday, May 25. A softball game was enjoyed" by the boys and badminton by the girls. It wjis led by Thurman Baker, recreation leader. The meeting was opened by the president, Eugene Reese. He dis­ cussed a hayride, and set it for some time in June, The members who are going to Greenfield Vil­ lage at Dearborn,Michigan, June 10 on the 4-H tour, bought their tickets. No new business was pre­ sented. The next meeting will be held at the home of Thurman Baker, June 8 at 7:30 p. m. Stanley B. Abels, reporter and John Stover, advisor. ENTERTAINS K.YN Mrs. Rankin McMillan enter­ tained the K. Y. N. club at her home Friday afternoon. Mrs. El- eanore Finney, president presided over the business and Airs.
