Service at a’ luncheon meeting at the F irst Methodist Church Xenia, Wed­ nesday noon. Mrs. Homey, a* member o f the circle, was presented a corsage and a g ift was sent to Mr. Hor­ ney. Mr, and Mrs. Hornev former Cedarville residents. K Y N XMAS PA R T Y The dining room o f the Meth­ odist church was the scene of a happy occasion Monday evening, ■when members of the K . Y . N. Club and their families enjoyed their annual Xmas party. The Xmas spirit and all its trimmings prevailed throughout when a bountiful covered dish supper was served. An interesting program follow­ ed including: readings by Naomi Conner; solo, Jingle Bells, Jan­ et Mac Millan; uiano solo, The Dutch Twins, Connie Engle; pi­ ano solo, The Skaters, Jane Mac Millan; trumpet solo, Spica, Sue Cotter, accompanied by Mrs. Rankin Mac Millan; trombone solo, White Christmas, John, Mac Millan; Accordion selections. Si­ lent Night, Holy N igh t and I Gave My L ife For Thee; Jackie Lilliek; marimba selections, Joan Sheeley; and reading, Mrs. J. 0. Conner. The group sang Xmas carols accompanied by Mrs. Donald Engle, and a. g ift exchange was enjoyed hy the children. The committee in charge o f the- supper included: Mrs. Rankin Mae Millan, Mrs. Marion Wild- man and Sirs. Pearl Sexton. BETROTHAL OF COUPLE Mr. and Mrs. "Walter W . Squir­ es, 309 W inter street, Yellow Springs, are announcing the en- o f their daughter, Miss Helen, to Mr. Robert S. Dunevant. son o f Mr. and Mrs. Earl W, Dunevant, Yellow Springs. N o date has been set fo r the wedding. The annoucement was revealed a t a dinner party given Thursday evening by the parents o f the bride-elect. Miss Squires is a graduate o f Bryan High school and attended .Bethel Women's College, Hop­ kinsville, K y . A t present she is employed as receptionist fo r the Yost Superior Co., Springfield. Mr. Dunevant is a graduate o f Cedarville H igh School and Ohio State University where he was a member o f Phi Kappa Sigma Fra­ ternity and the Scabbard and Blade, military fraternity. In the last war he served as a first lieutenant in the Pacific area with the 11th Airborne Division. H e is now associated with the Federal Deposit Insurance ex­ aminer. IN HOSP ITAL Mrs. Beryle Gurbaugh (Dorcas Johe) is in McCellan hospital, Xe­ nia,, where she underwent a ma­ jo r operation Monday. Mrs. Gur- baugh’s home is in Atlanta Ga., and she has been visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Delmar C« Jobe since Thanksgiving, WSCS XMAS PAR TY Thirty-five members were pres­ ent when the W . S. C. S o f the Methodist Church held their Xmas party, Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Frank Creswell. A covered dish dinner was en­ joyed by the group after a busi- ne;S meeting. Slides o f the Xmas story were shown, Music was given with the slides' by Miss Na­ omi Connor and Miss Marie Fish­ er, A playlet, T ’a; Missionary Dollar was given by 12 ladies o f the' group. McKIBBEN CLASS MEETS Mr. Thurman Miller, Jr., was Toast Master at the Xmas ban­ quet o f the McKibben Bible class held in the U. P. chudch Tuesday evening. The group was enter­ tained by Mr. Wilbur Fish and his music and by the readings o f Mrs, Montgomery West.
