Cedarville; O- Herald JANET WILLIAMSON IS TO WED JULY SO The Cedarville community and her many friends are interested in the announced plans fo r the wedding of Miss Janet William son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Williamson of Cedar ville, to Kenneth E. Barker, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Y. Barker of Galion. The wedding is to be an event of Saturday, July 80, the ceremony to be performed in the First Presbytei'ian church, at 8 o’clock in the evening. Organ music by Mrs. Rankin McMillan, and vocal numbers by soloist, Mrs. Hotter Pennypaeker, the bride-to-be’s sister, will precede the rites. Miss Mildred Williamson, Miss Williamson’s sister, will be maid of honor. Miss Martha Barker, the bridegroom-elect’s sister, and Miss Joann Jobe will also; attend the ’ bride. Flower girl will be Miss Williamson’s niece, Miss Connie Williamson, of Washing ton, D, C. Don Clarrick of Elyria will serve as best man. He is af filiated with Delta Tau Delta fraternity, DONALD RALSTON WEDS A GARY GIRL Cedarville shares with Clifton interest in a column-long story from Gary, Ind.. Chicago suburb, o f the marriage in that city, re cently of Donald Ralston, son of Rev. and Mrs. E. 0 . Ralston, now living in Gary, but for nine years residents of Clifton, where *Rev. Mr. Ralston was pastor of the U. P. church. Donald was married at the Brunswick United Presbyterian church in a beautiful ceremony to Miss Margaret Rowan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rowan also of Gary, “A product o f both Clifton and Cedarville schools,” is the com ment of the bridegroom’s father, the one-time popular pastor of the church in Clifton. He refers to the son’s completion of the high school course in Cedarville in 1943. Concluding the feature society page story, the Gary newspaper says: The new Mrs. Ralston was grad uated from Thomas A. Edison High school and now is employed at the Northern Indiana Public Service company, where she is a member o f the Ga-IIe-Le-Wa club. Mr. Ralston was graduated from Cedarville high school in Ge- darville, 0., prior to serving three years with the submarine divi sion of the United States navy, in the fall he will return to Mon mouth college in Monmouth, 111., where he is affiliated with the Theta Chi social fraternity and Pi Alpha Nu, campus musical fraternity. SHOWER GIVEN FOR BRIDE-TO-BE At the home o f her mother, Mrs. Ann Collins Smith, her daughter, Miss Barbara Smith was hostess, Friday evening, at a pantry shower given in honor of Miss Janet Williamson, of near Cedarville. Miss Williamson is to become the bride o f Kenneth E. Barker o f Gallon, Saturday, July 30, <.t 8 p. m., at the Cedarville Pres byterian church. Guessing the contents of the gift packages provided the happy entertainment of the twelve guests at the shower. From a table decorated with a miniature bridal couple refresh ments were served. Appointments for the patty were in pink, blue and white. MISS -GALLOWAY IS HONORED Miss Clara Galloway, Pasadena, Calif., spent the weekend here as a guest of Miss Norma Stor mont. Saturday afternoon Miss Stormont entertained a group of girls at her home honoring Miss Galloway. Guests were Martha Jane Creswell, Mrs. Don Whea ton, Janet and Mildred William son, Barbara Smith and Jean Bradfuto. The girls spent the af ternoon on the porch of the Stor mont home where lunch and cook ies were served. Following the party the group accompanied by their boy friends spent the evening at the Cabanas Club in Springfield. Miss Gallo way is spending the summer with her sister, Mrs. Rebecca Clark, , In Dayton. \ RESEARCH CLUB HAS ANNUAL PICNIC The Research Club held their Annual family picnic Friday eve ning at the .shelter house. The committee in charge o f arrange ments were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reinhard, Mr. and Mrs, Paul Cummings, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dobbins and Dr; and Mrs, Don ald Kyle. Forty-five members and their families enjoyed a covered dish dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Creswell; were guests. Mrs. Cres well is a former president of the, club. COLLEGE FOLK HAVE GAY PICNIC Members of “ College faculty, summer school students and their families held a picnic on the col lege campus Friday afternoon. Games and contests were en joyed. Jim Wisecup won the pie- eating contest. The team -of Art Lewis and Harold Warix won the egg throwing contest and Mrs. Carl Murnahjm won the sewing contest, by sewing a natch on her husband’s trousers in the short est time, CRESWELL-GRUBE WEDDING JULY 23 Miss Helen Creswell, daughter o f Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cres well, who live on Federal pike, is to be married July 23 to Albert Grube, of Clifton. The wedding date was announced at a party held at the Creswell home re cently. The rites will he said in the First Presbyterian church by its pastor, Rev. Paul Elliott. There were 25 guests at the announce ment party, at which Mrs. Cres well was assisted by her daugh ters, Junia, Rebecca and Dorothy. Both the young •people are graduates of Cedarville high school and Cedarville College. PRESBYTERIAN TEACHERS ENTERTAIN The teachers of the primary department o f the First Presby terian Church entertained the children with a picnic supper at the Community nark Tuesday eve ning. The teachers are, Mrs, N e l son Creswell, Mrs. Myron Wil liamson, Mrs. David Ramsey, Mrs. Herbert Powers, Mrs. Herbert Fields and Mrs. Alfred Bright- man. About 25 children enjoyed games and the lunch. W . S. C. S. MEETS WITH MRS. JACOBS The W. S. C. S. o f the Method ist Church held their monthly meeting at the home o f Mrs. Roy Jacobs Wednesday. In the absence of the new president, Mrs. J. W. Johnston, Mrs. David Reynolds presided over the meeting. Mrs. A . E. Richards had charge o f the devotions and program. The group enjoyed a covered dish dinner at noon. BECKS ARE MOVING TO CLIFTON , Mrs. Lucy Turner has returned after a visit with Mi*. and Mrs. Fred Beck (Genevieve Turner) in Toledo. The Becks have a new baby girl, Bonnie Sue. Mr. and Mrs. Beck are moving soon to Clifton as Mr. Beck has been transferred to Wright Field. They have purchased the Prints prop erty in Clifton. MONTGOMERY WEST CHANGES POSITION Mr. Montgomery West, Xenia, formerly of Cedarville has re signed his position as principal of McKinley school, to accept a similar' position in the Newtown school. VISITS SISTER IN CINCINNATI Mr. and Mrs, Wilbur Wisecup visited the latter’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. E. C. Schoumaciher, in Cincinnati last week. SUNDAY GUESTS OF BROTHER Mx-. and Mrs, Frank Bird had as Sunday guests the latter’s brother Walter Vaughn, and sons Bob and George o f Pomeroy. ATTEND CONFERENCE IN DAYTON Mrs. Paul Elliott and Mrs. R. T. Williamson attended a Plan ning conference at the Westmin ister church in Dayton Tuesday. THE NIFTY CEDAR GALS The Nifty Cedar Gals had a swimming party combined with their last regular meeting on July 7, at the. home of Joan Strewing. We went swimming at Petticrew Lodge. During our meeting we planned a Bake Sale to he held on Sat urday, July 9 at 11:00 a. m. After we came hack from swimming we were served re freshments. On Friday, July 8, the Nifty Cedar Gals went to Dayton to visit McCalls. ' END FAMILY REUNION Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Agnor and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Chester Loy and family in Tipp City the past week. - Sunday the Agnor family at tended the Huffman reunion at Legion Park in Marysville. ANDERSONS HAVE GUESTS Dr. and Mrs. James Anderson and sons of Monroe, spent the weekend With the former’s par ents, Dr. and Mrs. Leo Anderson.' Sunday the Andersons spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ben- bow in Yellow Springs. MRS. WEST HAS GUESTS Mr. and Mrs. Joe West and fam ily of Woodstock and Miss Su- sana West of Toledo spent Sun day with Mrs. J. S. West. Su- sana has been visiting at the home of her brother, Joe, for some time. BABY SON IS BORN Mr. and Mrs. Guy Turner are announcing the birth of a son Thursday morning in Springfield City hospital. This is their second son. Mrs. Turner .returned from the hospital Thursday morning. HOME FROM MICHIGAN Miss Bea Turner is home after a four-months visit with her sis ter and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Tinsler in Morley, Michigan. Hospital Care Corporation, the Blue Cross Plan in southwestern Ohio, has announced that the month o f .May was a record- breaker regarding the number of Blue Cross members hospitalized and the amount of payments to hospitals for their care.
