Herald Friday; October 21, 1949 MacMillan-Parson yows Exchanged At Bride's Home The country home o f Mrs. Clay­ ton MacMillan, near ’ Cedarvillte, ■was the scene of the .wedding of her daughter on Saturday after­ noon, October fifteenth, at 2 o’clock. Before an improvised-fire­ place altar,- arranged from.,huck­ leberry screen and large baskets of yellow gladiolas and yellow chrysanthemums, topped with a snapdragons and fugi mums, Miss Mary Margaret MacMillan be­ came the bride o f Mr. Roger El­ lis Pearson. . The jingle-ring sendee was performed by Reverend Paul H. Elliott, D. D.. pastor of the Ce­ d a r v i l l e First Presbyterian church, in the presence of mem­ bers o f the immediate families. Two selections o f nuptial music were played by Mrs. Rankin Mac­ Millan, pianist, preceding the ceremony. The bride chose for her wed­ ding, a suit, of toast brown, and she wore an orchid. Mrs. Pearson is a graduate o f Muskingum Col­ lege, and received her Master's Degree from Ohio State Univer­ sity. After teaching in the schools o f West Milton, she became a personnel worker at Wright Field, and for the past one and one-half years has continued her work for the government in Tokyo, Japan. She is the daugh­ ter of Mrs. Clayton MacMillan and the late Mr. MacMillan. Mr. Pearson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Barnard K. P.earspn of Sharon, Connecticut. He is a graduate of Hotchkiss Prep School and of Bowdoin College, He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Area for three years, with the rank of First Lieutenant. For the past three years be has been associated with the National City Bank o f New York in the Tokyo Branch. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. MacMillan wore a dress o f American Beauty crepe, and her corsage was o f vellow roses, The groom’s mother wore, a dress of teal crepe and a corsage o f yel­ low roses. After the ceremony a recep­ tion was held and refreshments were served from the dining ta­ ble, centered, with the wedding cake. , , ... Out of town guests, besides the parents of the groom, were Mr. and Mrs. Moses Doyle of Torrington, Conn.,1and Mr. and Mrs. Russell C. MacGregor of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Worthy Patron conducted the business session and were in charge o f special services honoring Charter members. Assisting with the spec­ ial services were Mary Pickering, Associate Matron; John Mills, Associate Patron: Geraldine Rob­ inson. Chaolin; Margaret Nelson, Janette Walker, Willa Veigh Beattie, Bashie Mills, Betty Ir­ vine, Betty Rose Ulsh and Mrs. Kathryn Masters who read the history of the Chapter. Following the piano selections Mrs. Corry sang four selections, Maid of Ganges, Time of Roses and Jesus Only. ENTERTAIN AT DINNER BRIDGE Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reinhard entertained 45 guests with a din­ ner bridge party at Trebein Man­ or Friday evening, honoring Mr. and Mrs. John Reinhard. Barrs Celebrate Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs, Fred C. Barr held “ open house” at their home just out of Xenia Sunday, in cele­ bration o f their 50th wedding an­ niversary. They were married Oct. 18, 1899, but decided to hold the golden wedding celebration two £.ys earlier on Sunday. Before her marriage Mrs. Barr was Miss Ruth Given. The wedding was part o f a double ceremony, as David. Evans (not livin- now) and Miss Ida Walker wer§ mar-; ried at the same time, Mv, Barr la a native o f Cedar-! ville, but has spent the greater! part o f his life in Xenia. They were brought up ip the OSSO . home, Xenia, as both lost their parents when they were young, The Barrs have six children, 14 grandchildren and three great­ grandchildren. A daughter and son die a number of years ao. HONORED ON FOURTH BIRTHDAY Delsie Rigio was honored on her fourth birthday with a party at the home o f her gr;fcidmother, Mrs. Inez Rigio, Tuesday after- seated at the table with Delsie at the head with a birthday cake with candle?.
