cedarville 130 th Anniversary Timeline 1946 Football reinstated as varsity sport; discontinued in 1953. 1943 Ira Vayhinger named president. 1940 Home of former Board of Trustees member W.P. Harriman donated to the University, becoming Cedarville University's first residence hall. Harriman Hall initially houses women. 1925 “Yellow Jackets” appears for the first time in the college yearbook as the mascot for Cedarville sports teams. 1932 Renowned journalist Lowell Thomas talks about Cedarville’s 137-0 football loss on national radio program.
