1950 1960 1970 1980 The desire of Cedarville students, faculty, and staff to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God is evidenced in every year of this timeline. Celebrate with us God’s faithfulness in using Cedarville to equip all students as missionaries in their vocations, their neighborhoods, and around the world. YEARS OF GOSPEL ADVANCEMENT 1970 President James T. Jeremiah hires Harold Green (PG) as Campus Pastor and Director of Christian Service. 1971 Don Callan, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, and Green create Missionary Internship Service (MIS); first overseas missions team visits Japan and the Philippines. 1960 First Missions Conference held at Cedarville. 1955 Department of Practical Work established; renamed Department of Christian Ministries in 1959. 1980s Music and puppet teams travel to Australia, England, Brazil, and South Africa; sports teams serve in the Ivory Coast, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Portugal, and the Philippines. 1954 Fellowship for World Missions student organization established. 28 | Cedarville Magazine
