MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY The 2013 team, G-MAC champions, featured seven All-G-MAC First Team performers. The squad finished third of 29 teams at the NCAA II Midwest Regional in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to earn a bid to the NCAA II Cross Country Championships in Spokane, Washington, where the Yellow Jackets placed 15th of 32 teams. Senior Matt Brooker finished 28th of 248 competitors at the meet to become Cedarville’s first NCAA II All-American. WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY The 2013 team repeated as G-MAC champions as sophomore Alexandra Archambault won the individual title for the second consecutive year. Olivia Esbenshade, Rachel Groh, and Kristen Laaman joined Archambault on the All-G-MAC First Team. Archambault also repeated as an NCCAA All-American by placing seventh of 227 runners. MEN’S SOCCER The Yellow Jackets captured the 2013 G-MAC title with a penalty kick shootout victory over Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia. It was the first Cedarville men’s soccer conference title in 26 years as the Jackets finished with a record of 13-3-4. Ethan Dewhurst, Jerrett Kersten, Zach Harris, and Connor Gilmour were All-G-MAC First Team performers. Seniors Timmy Waller and Eric Hoober were named to the Capital One All-America Division II Second Team. WOMEN’S SOCCER This year’s team completed the fall campaign with a record of 15-7, the most wins in a season during the program’s 17-year history. The record-setting mark included a 9-1 run through the G-MAC schedule to finish in first place. Sophomore Jacoby Ziegler was the league’s Offensive Player of the Year while classmate Carly Gregory earned the G-MAC’s Defensive Player of the Year honor. Grace Miorelli and Kaleigh Rowlands joined Ziegler and Gregory on the All-G-MAC First Team. Ziegler was recognized as a member of the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America Second Team. VOLLEYBALL The Lady Jackets produced a 23-14 record this past fall, including a 12-2 mark in the G-MAC. Cedarville earned its second consecutive league championship with a three-set sweep of tournament host Kentucky Wesleyan in Owensboro, Kentucky. Junior outside hitter Hannah Wagner was voted the G-MAC Player of the Year. Classmate Amanda Bell joined Wagner on the All- G-MAC First Team. The Lady Jackets rolled through the final portion of their schedule, winning 20 of the last 23 contests. WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Cedarville’s team completed the 2013–14 campaign with a record of 18-10. The Lady Jackets earned the No. 2 seed in the G-MAC Tournament with a league mark of 13-3 and advanced to the semifinals. Kayla Jenerette, the squad’s leading scorer this season, finished her career as the No. 5 all-time leading Cedarville scorer. Jenerette and junior Raegan Ryan were voted to the All-G-MAC First Team. The Lady Jackets closed out the year winning 15 of their final 18 games. MEN’S BASKETBALL The Yellow Jackets posted a 10-18 record this season with a schedule that included contests at NCAA Division I opponents Tulane University and Texas State University. The squad completed play in the G-MAC with a 7-7 record to earn a No. 4 seed in the league’s postseason tournament. Junior Marcus Reineke finished the year as the leading scorer while the team’s lone senior, Brian Grant, was the second-leading scorer and top rebounder. Reineke was selected to the All-G-MAC Second Team. 46 | Cedarville Magazine
