Cedarville Magazine 251 N. Main St., Cedarville, OH 45314 1-888-CEDARVILLE | magazine@cedarville.edu cedarville.edu/magazine The first time many of us heard about the Bolthouse Academic Center (though not yet by that name!) came in the summer 2019 issue of Cedarville Magazine. That “master plan edition” was filled with our hopes and goals for the next 10 years at Cedarville. Smack dab at the end of that plan, on the far horizon, was the building you’ll see on this issue’s front cover. How far the Lord has led us! The verse we quoted in that magazine has held true! “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1, ESV). The Lord’s hand has directed this project over the past five years. It is a joy to see the fruition of that work, first in this magazine in your hands and soon on campus as well. That “master plan” magazine arrived in your mailbox around the same time I arrived on Cedarville’s campus as a freshman. As an English student, my 1000 Days at Cedarville were spent in the classrooms, halls, and lounge of Williams Hall. We were a small program in a tight space, but like the parable’s faithful servant, we stewarded it well as we grew in the Lord together. Now, I’m excited to see ELML and programs like ours entrusted with much, because our GOSPEL GLIMPSES graduates interact daily with lost people who yearn for meaning that only Christ can provide. There is a desperate need for a life-transforming, soul-deep faith in these fields, and often one glimpse of the real thing is all it takes to open someone’s heart to the Gospel. Our graduates offer these glimpses. They are on the front lines of our culture every day, doing quiet, faithful work that the Lord wields mightily to change people’s hearts. With the Bolthouse Academic Center, we tell our teachers, politicians, authors, psychologists, and social workers that their work matters. We bolster them with the reminder that their faithful toil is not only valid but a treasure that the Lord is using to add souls He loves to His Kingdom. We at Cedarville earnestly strive to join in the Lord’s soul-deep work by preparing graduates to witness well, and the Bolthouse Academic Center is a testament to how important that work truly is. We hope that you will join us in the coming months as we pray to the Lord for this project and praise Him for the great work He has already done!
