Cedarville Magazine, Summer 2019
to advance our mission and vision. The investment of time and resources to build, grow, and expand the Cedarville campus is a physical representation of the transformation of students’ lives as they are trained and equipped to reach the world for Christ in whatever vocation God has called them to serve. Q How will the University fund a plan like this, and how will alumni and friends be able to participate? A This campus master plan is a God- sized vision for Cedarville University. We will only realize this vision and accomplish this ambitious plan by God’s grace and favor if many alumni, parents, and friends who love Cedarville University faithfully participate and contribute time, talents, and resources. A comprehensive funding plan is being developed so that all who support the University can be involved in realizing an even better Cedarville for the future. Q What would you say to the donor who has a heart to give but has limited means? Do small gifts make a difference? A Absolutely. Every gift matters. I recently received an email from faithful donors who give $100 annually to the Cedarville Fund, which supports students through scholarships, chapel, the Bible minor, discipleship, and the overall Cedarville experience. These faithful financial partners wished they could do more, but I assured them their sacrificial gift of $100 each year is exceedingly important. To realize this campus master plan, enhance curricular and co-curricular programs, and continue to increase scholarships and grow our endowment for greater affordability and accessibility, will require tens of thousands of gifts from tens of thousands of alumni, parents, and friends. Every size of gift will be needed from $100 to $1 million-plus over the next several years to realize this exciting campus master plan. Q When should alumni and friends e x p e c t t o h e a r mo r e a b o u t opportunities to get involved, and what are some ways to stay informed about how the plan is progressing? A The first call to action is prayer. I would ask each person reading this article to make a special effort to pray for Cedarville University, to pray for God’s favor, and to pray for God’s grace to accomplish this exciting campus master plan. In the coming months, there will be opportunities to corporately join together in prayer as a Cedarville University family. Second, I would ask our alumni, parents, and friends to begin praying how they might support Cedarville University in successfully accomplishing this campus master plan with their time, talents, and treasure. Alumni, parents, and friends can advance the cause of Christ and make a Kingdom impact with the God-given resources God has given them to steward. We will be communicating more in the coming year about specific ways to be involved.
