MEN’S SOCCER SEES GOSPEL IN ACTION DURING COLOMBIA MISSION TRIP A group of 28 Yellow Jacket men’s soccer players, coaches, and staff used their spring break to partner with The Christian Union Sports Club (COSDECOL) to further the Gospel in Medellin, Colombia. COSDECOL uses soccer to rescue young people from the streets and the influence of drugs by sharing the hope that is available through a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Cedarville contingent came alongside the club to help run practices, lead coaches’ clinics, and even help build a soccer field in a neighboring community. The Yellow Jackets also played three matches against local clubs and teams. COSDECOL owns its own soccer facility and retreat center that utilizes 40 coaches to impact more than 3,000 Colombian youth for Christ through leagues and discipleship. “A primary focus of the trip was to serve and provide support to a soccer ministry in Colombia that is making a difference for Christ,” explained men's soccer head coach Brett Faro. “Internally, the experience impacted our players as they witnessed how active the Gospel is at transforming lives through the global Church. The opportunity to serve others and share the Gospel was very unifying for our team.” KIRK MARTIN INDUCTED INTO OHIO BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME Former Cedarville University women's basketball head coach Kirk Martin was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday, April 20. Over Martin's time coaching the Lady Jackets from 2001–2016, he averaged 25 wins a season and racked up a total of 380 wins, including a 72-game conference winning streak.
