In Memoriam: James Lyons Chesnut, D.D.

JAMES LYONS CHESNUT, D. D. 27 and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Stor– mont, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Creswell, Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Hanna and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Creswell. J. H. Creswell acted as toastmaster for the vrogram of after-dinner speeches and intro– duced the following speakers: Elder J. H. Creswell, who gave the address of welcome on behalf of the church session; Prof. F. A. Jurkat, on behalf of the congregation; Miss Mary Cooper, for the Sabbath School; Miss Josephine Orr, president of the Christian Endeavor Society, on behalf of that organi– zation; Mrs. Martha Morton, for the Wom– an's Missionary Society; Rev. J. W. Patton for the Methodi_st Episcopal Church; Prof. Leroy Allen for the United Presbyterian Seminary; Dean W. R. McChesney for Cedar– ville College. The Rev. J. S. E. McMichael's name was on the program for an address on behalf of the United Presbyterian Church, but he was unable to be present because of illness. "During his talk on behalf of the college Dr. McChesney read a list of 41 names of young men and women of the Reformed Pres– byterian Church who have graduated from Cedarville College during the last twenty years. Dr. McChesney told how the student body loves Dr. Chesnut, who has been a member of the Seminary Board of the college for several years, and has often visited the college, and how sincerely they welcome him to Cedarville.
