Th e real desio;n is to make an appeal, especially to the Alumni of the college, fol' a loyal support to him now in the very be ~dnni ng of his a.dministration. I am not pleading for anything- material such as the gift of money or the raising of an endowment althoug-h thi:>se needs may be PTeat. I feel sure the president would prefer a sup– port less material just now. It has been my privilege to meet him face to face recently, and I know ho,,_, keenly he feels the bmden of
