Mi s s Thayer is the daughterof Mr. and Mrs. R i c h a r d Thayer, near Clifton, and Creswell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ne l s o n Creswell of Cedar ville. The winner'.s topic was "At Dawn, You Shall Die. ” The Creswell. youth spoke about "Man and the S o il." Prince of Peace Declama­ t i o n contests a r e sponsored yearly by the Ohio Confer­ ence of Churches to stimulate interest of young people in world peace. McKibben Class Of UP Church Marks Yuletide The McKibben Class of the United Presbyterian Church held their Christmas p a r t y last Saturday at the church. The Happy Homes S u n d a y School class served the din ner. Committee in charge of the event included Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dobbins, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cotter, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Evans, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Townsley. Mr. Cotter acted as toast­ master and Mr. Ralph Fergu­ son read the Christmas story from the B i b l e . Mrs. Fred Townsley gave a book review on "Big Family" and the re­ mainder of the evening was on "Big Family" and the re­ mainder of the evening was s p e n t singing C h r i s t m as carols. Mr. Joseph Cloran has ac­ cepted a position in the per­ sonnel d e p a r t m e n t of the p r o p e l l o r b r a n c h o f t h e Wright Aerial Development C e n t e r at Wright-Patterson AFB. . .Mr. and Mr s . Thompson, James- t own , was taken to Mary Rutan Ho s p i t a l , 3ellefon- taine, following a spectacu­ lar auto-truck crash on U. S. 68 north o f B e l l e f o n t a i n e Friday night. Th omp s o n ' s car collided with a tractor-trailer outfit loaded with hogs. The truck tractor o v e r t u r n e d in the wreck and burst into flames when the gasoline tank ex­ ploded.
