The Busy Homemakers Clufc had their first meeting of the new year at the home of Mrs. G l e n n Babb, Wed, Jan. 3. T h e y had as their guest speaker, Mrs. Dorothy Buck, Deere Readers: We were certainly well pleased with the turn-out for the John Deere Day last week. More than 200 folks from around here showed up for the festivities. We were fortunate in having Mr. John Raber from Col­ umbus, our district sales manager, here as well as a couple other fellows from the b r a n c h h o u s e . We chomped through 25 pounds of hot dogs, 25 dozen do­ nuts, three cases of baked beans, and eight gallons of coffee, four gallons of milk, and five gallons of orange juice. Both the Bowersville and Greeneview FFA boys were with us and we made the plans for our 4-H trac­ tor maintenance program to start at 8 p. m. Monday, Jan. 21. It seems this John D e e r e show gets better every year and crowds get larger so we're s t a r t i n g plans for next year's show already. We hope to have it on a Saturday in a more roomy spot --John Evans the Home Economics Exten­ sion Ag e n t of Xenia. M ts . Rose Devoe was in charge of devotions. There was a gift e x c h a n g e after which re­ freshments were s e r v e d to ten members, four children and one g u e s t . Miss Grice, a graduate of Greeneview High school and the Columbus Beauty School, is now employed at Harriet's Beauty Salon. The groom- to-be was g r a du a t e d from J e f f e r s onville High school and is employed by United Aircraft at Dayton.
