Phone News Tips To The Guardian 4-5091 Deere Readers: We made it back safe and sound from the factory trip. Everybody came home with a personal knowledge ofhow the John Deere products are made. A lot of our friends thought that some of the fine features of the John D e e r e "just_ happened" but it only took a few m i n u t e s in the testing laboratories for them to learn that John Deere is making every effort possible to m a i n t a i n a standard of quality that is the highest in the industry. I think the high point of the trip was the h a l f - d a y we spent on the tractor assem bly line--actually watching the t r a c t o r s come to life. From assembly we watched them go into the test .room where every tractor that rolls off the line must pass both drawbar and belt tests before being c 1e a n ed and painted for shipment. In addition to the t r a c t o r factory and testing labora tories we also v i s i t e d our h a r v e s t er works, our plow works, our wagon works, and our spreader works. Not o n l y did we see the actual production of today's machines but we also got a p e e k at a few of the ma chines of the future. The trip was such a success, everybody felt, that we are a l r e a d y making plans for next year’s journey. --John Evans tvAMS PASM SUPPLY Dial 4 - n a i about people in Jamestown Miss Ruth Goodbar was guest bert of Mr. Carmel Road. in the home of Mr. and Mrs. --------- Holly J e n k i n s and family Mr. Raymond Easley of near Sunday afternoon and eve- Sabina is slowly improving ning. in the Greene M e m o r i a l - - - — Hospital.
