Payments under the 1956 P r o g r am will be made on marketings of Wool and Lamb s completed be­ t we e n Ap r i l 1, 1956 and March 31, 1957. "Completions of m a r k e t ­ i ng s , " the Office Manager e x p l a i n s , means that the title or Wool or Lambs must have passed from the Seller to the Buyer. If any part of th e s a l e - - s u c h as price, weight or yield--needed to determine the purchase price is not completed within the dates mentioned above, the sale will not be considered as e l i g i b l e for submission Garringer Hostess to Verda-JaClub The 'v'erae-Ja Garden Club held its April meeting af the home of Mrs. Wqndell Gar- ringer Monday afternoon. A short business meeting was held with the president, Mrs. Norman Linton, in charge. Mrs. A. D. R i t e n o u r , a special guest, demonstrated how to make various flower a r r a ng eme n t s . Mrs. Earl Gerard brought an arrange­ ment that she had made to the meeting. In applying for payments, producers must supply docu­ ments showing complete in- 14 Attend DAR Event The George Slagle Chapter of the DAR met at the home of Mrs. He n r y Hornberger Tuesday evening. Fourteen members responded to roll call by giving current events. Mrs. Max Heifner, regent, presided and led the chapter in its ritualistic service, in­ cluding the salute of the flag. Mrs. Myron Fudge reviewed the book, "A Miracle in the Hills, " by Dr. Mary Sloop. It is the story of Dr. Sloop’s life in North Carolina, where she c o n d u c t s a mountain school. In 1955, Dr. Sloop was c h o s e n "Mother of the Y ea r." Mrs. Ralph G o n z a l e s of Po r t a Rica, who is visiting her pa r e n t s , Mr. and Mrs. Bradden Smith, was a guest of the chapter. After the meeting the host­ ess served delicious refresh­ ments. The next meeting will be May 7 with Mrs. Dale Atley. Chester Browder Is Buried Here Chester L. Browder, former­ ly a farmer between James­ town and Washington C. H ., was buried Saturday in James­ town C e m e t e r y . He died Thursday at his Mechanics- burgRoute 2 home at the age of 72. Funeral services were held in Springfield. Mr. Browder had lived at the Mechanicsburg address 12 yearssincehe gave up farm­ ing in this area. Surviving are his widow, Ann B.
