History SENIOR CLASS HISTORY S EPTEMBER 10, 1949 ! Never will we for get that memorabl e day when God brought together thirty-two student s from all walks of life and welded us together into a compact group which has since been known as the Baptist Bible Institute ' s class of '52. We were in truth a motley -- some nois ey , s ome quiet , some passive, some aggressive; some brilliant , some t alented; but under all this was one thing common to us all - - - we were Christians called to serve the Lord at Bible School. As freshmen, wide-eyed and innocent , we were quiet and subdued as we were duly greeted by the Dean, the Faculty , and the Auxiliary. We were brought down to a practical standpoint by the Registrar as we paid our money, or more to the point , "made arrangements". Then we were really initiated when we met the seniors who gave us a little lighter welcome and we ended the evening playing " evening girls" and s inging " There ' s a Welcome Here". We thought we would never become adjusted that first year; homesickness, tests, new environment , tests , building our character, and more tests. But we also had our fun. There was that back row in English class and the cookies from Mrs. Skaggs. Then too our outsi de activities with Tract Club, Fqreign Missions Fellowship, week-end assignments and before we knew it -- Juniors-and we had "arrived" ! We were noted for our ag– gressivenes s and our " prove it , we ' r e from Missouri " attit ude . Yes, we had been given a Biblical foundation and now we began to grow in that knowledge . Sometimes our " convictions' ' were to t he consternation of our t eacher s . but we mast er ed much in t hi s s econd yea r of our study and our love for lost s oul s in– creased as we s tudied. But a note of s a dness s ounded as we lost many of our classmates this year . We know not why God saw fit t o separate us but we thank Him for the time we had together. Now we stand in our l ast year, as Seniors. We are thank– ful for what our school has given us and for the Spiritual bene– fits we have reaped while here. Our aim as we graduate- - "We've received the Light of Truth, Pass it on, pass it on. We've received our Saviour's plea Follow me , follow me." The Lord's call is a good guarantee for His care. 21
