History Due to the efforts of Prof. Jean Smith and Miss H elen Sewall the Young vVomen 's Christian Association wa organized April 8, 1909, with a member hip consisting o.f all the girls in College. While th e organi– zation i small and has been in existence for only two years, we feel Yery much encourag.ed by the work which has been done during this time and the intere t that i now manife t among the girl gives us a bright outlook for the future. We are especially pleased_ with the way in "'Yhich the new girls have taken int ere t in the {vork and the active part they have taken in the weekly meetings. The fact that the As ociation is small has not prevented us from_ being not onl)' a spiritual success but a financial succe as well. Fir t of all. the girls refurni hed their rest room; the next winter one delegate was ent to the Rochester Convention; two delegate were ent the following ummer to the Territorial Conference at Granville· in October, 1910, the A ociation ent one delegate to a missionary conference held at Athens. Ohio; ·now we are making arrangement to end at l east two delegate thi ummer to the Gr;:mville Conference.
