The Baptist ! id-Missions q uarterly con– ference \.vas in session and the Sym– posium was the highlight of the after– noon. Truly, ' 'their children rise up and call them blessed.' ' An interesting skit was put on by a number of missionaries now home 011 furlotigh from the Central _Africa11 Republic. They wore their colorful native dress. As we listened to them converse in a language foreign to our ears, we ,vere glad for an in– terpret er . F e tishes of various descrip– tions are , vorsh ipped until t he light of the Gosp el penetrates their darkened h earts and the Lord Jesus is given His r ightful place as Saviour and Lord. Mrs. H enry Osborn, recently re– turned from Venezuela, t old of the ,vork to which the Lord h as called her and h er husband. Laboring along the river , they live in a house surrounded by the river on all sides, the neares t grocery store 90 miles downstream! Reducing the language of the p eople into writing, then teach– ing the Indians to r ead and write, the thrill of h aving portions of the Word put into their h ands and of leading them to the Lord Jesus has been their ministry for two terms of • serY1ce. Our offering which amoun ted to $72 .50 was d esignated , $10.00 be– ing sent to Rev. Ray Braun , vetera1 missionary suffering from Parkinson's d isease, the r emaining $52.50 sent to Miss Berna Dean Lee t o assist in her tremendous medical expenses.
