Missionaries write letter by light of petrol lamp The little petrol lamp is sitting on my left Alice i on the other ide of the lamp and on the andy ground it our little transistor radio bringing in the Back to the Bible through the radio ta tion ELWA fr om Liberia. In the background can you hear the pounding out of grain in the mortar ? There i no dancing tonight and all is quiet - ju t lovely for a vi it with you. Welcome to our nat ive r e t house about 15 miles from the neare t hop– ping center! We are out here tudy– ing - yes we are back in chool. Who is our teacher ? Well , this is more or less a "teach yourself course. Language : We told you that this term we hoped to learn the native tribal language when we came back. Wel1 , we have been studying on and off on thi Sara language but now with the help of God we want to be preaching in it all the time - so here we ar e! The language we have been using is the trade language imported from down country in the Central Africa Republi c and in which we have many Scripture portion and wi ll soon have the Bible. It is now felt that since thi is a separa te r e– public that we must learn the tribal language and begin putting thi into wri ting and to produce literature in this language. We do have Scrip ture portions in it already but we need to get the ew Testament into thi language. Pray for us while we are learning thi language! M o"i11g: We wi ll be going back to Fort Archambault the month of August to replace another mi sionary couple at least till the first of the year I 964, the time of our nex t annual field conference.
