Pure Water There i muc h talk today abot1t water pollution, contaminated drinking water Polluted treams, river s lake and even the water upply under ground is the cattse of much concern in our land. There are civic com– mittees, state jnquiry boards a nd federal investigations being held to come up with an answer. A few years ago there were m any lovely beaches where swimming was enjoyed but now s igns are ,posted WATER POLLUTED NO SWIM– Ml G. In early days of our country, one was safe to drink from most any river or creek, but not o now. We muc;t filter a nd re-filter. We must chlorinate and f ]uorin ate. Still we have problems. Recentl y a city in c~aJifornia di covered thouSiands of citizens were having diarrhea and high fever. Te t were made and it was d1~covered the wel ls of that city were contaminated and the water sL1pply had to be made pttre.
