Jame Seaman received his 8 . . degree in Economic from Cedar– ville in 1968. OHis Master's degree was earned from the Univer ity of Dayton and hi di ertation i pending toward hi Ph.D. in Bu iness Education and Management from the Ohio State University. A graduate of Cedarville in 1970, Mr. Lyle Anderson, Instructor of Music, served in the music depart– ment of Ambassador Bible Institute in London, Ohio for one year. While at Cedarville, he worked as student director of the College Choir and assistant in the music theory depart– ment. STRICKLAND RAYBURN Another new faculty member in the Music department, Miss Judy Strick– land comes to Cedarville upon com– pletion of her Master,s degree in piano from North Texas State University. She received her undergraduate de– gree in 1969 from Samford University in Birmingham , Alabama. An addition to the Speech Depart– ment at Cedarville is Associate Pro– f cssor Speech , Mr . Marlin Rayburn. He received his undergraduate degree from Wheaton College and his Mas– ter's degree from Wayne State Uni– versity. Mr. Rayburn comes to Cedar– ville from Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. 12 OCTOBER, 1971 Mrs. Pat. ERTLE DIXON Mrs. Virginia Carole Ertle has been appointed to the position of Dean of Women, Cedarville College President, Dr. James T. Jeremiah has announced. Mrs. Ertle succeeds Mrs. Mead Arm– strong, who served as dean for the past two years. Mrs. Ertle's background in the field of education and more specifically in guidance counseling is extensive. Graduating with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana, she taught in Jefferson Elementary School, before serving as part of a counseling progran1 development team in Kala– n1azoo, Michigan. While in Michigan, she initiated a practical studies pro– gram for exceptional children, was in– strumental in establishing a neighbor– hood committee core and was involved in a structured counseling program on Joining the faculty of the Psycholo– gy Department as Associate Professor of P ychology, Mr. Robert Abbas hold undergraduate degrees in mu ic education and biology. He received his Ma ter of Educational Psychology and Guidance from the Univerc;ity of Northern olorado in 1965. "Victory Through Christ" is the theme of the Fifth Annual Youth Conference, sponsored by the Cedar– ville College Swordbearers. Slated for Saturday, November 6, 1971, the all– day event will involve rallies and dis- f cussion groups and guest speaker will be author and lecturer, Bob Larson. Approximately 1000 young people are expected on the Cedarville campus for the November conference. Pre– registration should be sent to: Sword– bearers, Cedarville College, Cedarville, Ohio 45314 Approximately 1000 full and part– time students arrived on the Cedar– ville campus for the opening class sessions on September 30. The Fresh– men class was the largest ever with about 360 new students participating in Orientation exercises from Septem– ber 27-30. During the summer months, the monies designated for the new Science Center have increased to figures over $280,000. The last recorded figures issued were $165,000. The Lord bas blessed the college through numerous · large gifts and estate settlements. Continue to be with us in prayer fot the needs and work of Cedarville College.
