Paul Tassell spoke at our Bapt is t School graduation service . As Presi– dent of the Board, it was our Pastor' s priv– ·1ege to present diplomas to the graduating • seniors BEREA BAPTIST CHURCH- We have been privileged to have a number of special speakers. Some of these were Dr . Kenneth Good {North Olms ted), Dr . Paul Tassell (Nat ional GARB( Youth Representa– t ve and Missionary Richard Durham (Philip– pines-ABWE). Rev. and Mrs . Elmer Marquardt directed our Da ily Vacat ion Bible School. FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, BLANCHESTER - We hod three d ifferent 'musical" groups minister here These were the Cedarville Col– ege Band, "The Revel ators" quartet and " The S 11g1ng Ball Family". Brother Ward Harris Central African Republi c- BMM) told of the great need for the gospel 1n Afr ica. The Lord gave vs a very good Daily Vacation Bible School. The Lord blessed in the meetings . CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, BUCYRUS - Professor Veldt and the Forerunners Quar– tet from Grand Rapids Bapt is t Bible College ministered here. Missionaries Edward and Marilyn Schlegal (West lndies-BMM) and Coralee Peck (Japan-ABWE) were with us for our Missionary Conference. Mrs . Schlega I spoke at our Mother-Daughter banquet. WHIPPLE AVENUE BAPTIST CHURCH, CANTON - We had three wonderful banquets. One was our Mother-Daughter banquet, another our Senior Hig h banquet and also, our Father– Son banquet. All three we re times of rich blessing . Evangelist Hugh Ho rn e r was with us on June 25th and Editor-Evangelist Don Moffat on August 6th . BETHLEHEM BAPTIST CHURCH, CLEVELAND - Rev. Gerald Smelser (Cleveland Heb rew Mission) taught a class on p rophecy and our pastor taught one on the Christian home during our Vacation Bible School. These were adult classes . A gospel team from Bryan College was with us in late June . The Bap– tist Christian School held their commence– ment here on June 9th. There were 23 gradu– ating seniors . CEDAR HILL BAPTIST CHURCH, CLEVELAND - Dr . Julia Henkel of Grand Rapids, Michigan was here for our Five-Day Summer Bible Club. Her ministry is with puppets . She also uses " scene-a-felt" to present Bible stories. Mr. Dale Welch, accomplished pianist, from Grand Rapids , Michigan along with a 240 voice choir under the direction of Mr. Paul Matthews presented a " Concert of Sacred Music". Dr. Robert Gilbert of Bap t ist Mid– Missions also ministered here. CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH, COLUMBUS - Recently our pastor had the joy of baptiz– ing a Jewish mother, her daughter and her Gentile son-in-law. These folks had been reached for Christ through the ministry of Mrs Bromwell of Baptist Mid-Missions . HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH, COLUMBUS - Gucsl speakers of lute include Dr. Jack. Riggs of Codnrvillc College, Missionary Jesse Eaton (Bc1nglac1csh-ABWE) and Rev. Richard Gillespie of Kalumazoo, Michigan. We arc happy to ht>vc our new postor-Rcv. L. S. Luard-now with us. He began his ministry here in early June IMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH, COLUMBUS · Missionaries Richard Durham (Philippines– ABWE), Ed. Schwartz (BMM) and Pat Barkley (Bangladesh-ABWE) spoke here. We voted $50 per month toward the support of Miss Barkley. This amount completed her needed support before leaving for the f ield Pastor and Mrs. Abernathy visited in Newf ield, N.J. at their former church. Pastor spoke at the church' s Centennial service MARANATHA BAPTIST CHURCH, COLUMBUS - The summer quarter of our Maranatha Bible Institute is now under way. An ap– proval was given to build a garage building at a cost not to exceed $15,000. We hon– ored our High School graduates with a spe– cial banquet. MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH, COLUMBUS - Rich blessing was experienced through the ministry of Dr. Paul Tassell . Our pastor, along with musicians from our church, assisted in special meetings at the Faith Baptist Church in Commercial Point . Missionary Wm. Comp– ton (Virginia) was with us on July 2nd . PINE HILLS BAPTIST CHURCH, COLUMBUS - Rev. John Weeks (Ma rt inique-EBM), Rev. Wilbur Lingle (Japan) and Rev . Wayne Younker (Philippines) took part in our Mis– sionary Conference. Dr. Tom Hall was guest speaker at our Father-Son banquet. Evangelist Herbert T. White held special meetings July 17-23. FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH, DEFIANCE - The Lord blessed in our meetings with Evangelist Ken Dodson . "The Swordbearers' ' from Cedarville College assisted in canvassing our community. Some 33 prospects were gained . We now have most of the money needed to purchase a f ive acre site on which we hope to build a $150,000 building. We began a Shepherd's class for mentally re– tarded children recentl y. The Lord blessed through our Vacation Bible School. COUNTY LINE BAPTIST CHURCH, DAYTON - The ministry of Evangelist Hugh Horner was one f illed with much blessing. We were greatly challenged and results from the meet– ings are still being evidenced. The ladies of our church held a Spring banquet . Mrs. Ward Harris (Cen tr al Afr ican Republ ic-BMM) was the special speaker. EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH, DAYTON - Our pastor's wife, Mrs Nile Fisher, was the guest speaker for our Mother-Daughter THE OHIO INDEPENDENT BAPTIST
