ABBE ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH, ELYRIA - Our pasto r was recently electe d to serve as Cle rk o f the Hebron Associa t ion . Our church has begun an in tensive visita t ion p ro– gram. The young people a re assis ting by d is– tribut ing chu rch invi t a t ions and gospel trac ts throughou t the communi ty . FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, ELYRIA - We held a special Sunday fo r our Senior Citi zens. Mission aries Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Wood e n (Japan-BMM) spoke here. They p re– sen t ed t heir work by using slides. Our young people had a g rea t t ime a t their Senior High banque t w h ich was held in Hol land, Michi– gan . Bro ther Cleveland McDonald was with us f or our Ce d arville College Day. GRAND AVENUE BAPTIST CHURCH, FAIRBORN - Our Daily Vacation Bible Schoo l will be held in August. We are having an addi t ional special week for mentally retarded children We also are planning a Youth Emphasis week. The church vot ed to provide t he necessa ry money f o r t he construction and installa t ion of kitchen cabinets for Missionary Ernie Olsen and his f amily . The Olsens are building a re– ti rement home for t heir use following their next term o n t he f ield. FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, GALION - We we re th r illed with the minis try of Miss Ruth Hege (Venezuela-BMM). Our dear sis ter had se rved the Lord faithfully through the years. She has been a missionary both in t he Congo and Venezuela . He r message was a challenge and a blessing. FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, GALLIPOLIS - Recent ly we had two missionary speakers . They were Dr. Lincoln Nelson (Philippines– ABWE) and Rev . Jesse Ea t on (Bangladesh – ABWE) Dr Edward Spencer of Cedarville College also ministered here. The son o f our Associate Pastor- Mr. Ken Cole- told o f h is recent v1s1t to the Philippines. There we re two rows of Fil ipinos attending this service . Associate Pastor Harry Cole recently suffered a back injury SOUTH LIMA BAPTIST CHURCH, LIMA - M,ss Blanche Hamilton (Japan ABWE) was THE OHIO INDEPENDENT BAPTIST wi th us. We held a " Fam ily Missiona ry Night" at w h ich time w e encouraged our folk to bring an o ffering fo r our missionary cup– board. We al s o have had the privi lege of hea r ing Rev. and Mrs. David Totman (Bangla– desh- ABWE) . Miss Wo lfe took pa rt ,n our Vaca t ion Bib le School p rogram. FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, MEDINA - Pas to r Sme lser w as the Bible t eacher a t a Mission a ry Conf e rence in Erie, Pennsylvania . We had the la rges t e nrollment in our Daily Vaca t ion Bible School in the his tory o f our churc h- 440 . We wil l, once again, have a " Tent at t he Fair' ' f or the Medi na Coun ty Fair - August 1 t hrough 6 . This yea r, as in t he past, we will be ho lding our evening se rvices in t he t own squa re . MOGADORE BAPTIST CHURCH - Mr . Carl Hardman, representing " The Gideons" and Brother Bob Devi ne of Chris– t ian radio s t a t ion WCRF spoke he re recen tl y . Our pas tor has been appoin ted as "Chaplain On Call" fo r the Akron East Holiday Inn . FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, NILES - Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Wooden (Japan- BMM) were w it h us for one of our p raye r mee t ings . We had a special banque t for our graduating High School seniors . The younge r High School fo lk were also p r ivileged to attend. This banque t was followed by " late, late nigh t ac tivities " ending wi t h a breakfast at t he parsonage. BEREAN BAPTIST CHURCH, OREGON - Mr . Tim Young of t he Appalach ian Bib le Institu te was here. The young people greatly enjoyed their " G radua t ion Banquet". BIBLE MISSION BAPTIST CHURCH, PATASKALA - A special " Depa rture Se rv ice" was held for one o f our young people-Miss Nancy Towle. She le ft in June to serve as a missionary under ABWE in Spain. TEMPLE BAPTIST CHURCH, PORTSMOUTH - One of our young people-Mi ss Ca thy But– ler - was a w inne r in our Ohio Talents for Christ contest . The church voted to send her to San Diego to participa te in the national contes t. Mi ssiona ry Earl Umbaugh and Evan– gelist/ Edi tor Don Mof fat minis tered here re– cently. Other gues ts include former pastor Rev. and Mrs. Hall Dau tel, as well as, Rev . and Mrs. Norman Sanders. The Sanders were associa ted wi th t he ministry of our church when Brother Dautel was our pas tor . BIBLE MISSION BAPTIST CHURCH, REYNOLDSBURG - The Appalachian Bible Ins titute Chorale sang f or us . Our own choir presented "So Send I You ' '. Rev . Walte r Banks (Cleve land) and Rev . Claude Williams (Jamaica ) mini s tered here . Our Bible Conference wil I be held Augus t 13-17. Dr . Clarence Mason (Ph iladel– phia Co llege of the Bible) and Mr . Mike Coyle (St. Petersburg, Florida) w ill minister during the conf e rence. SOUTHGATE BAPTIST CHURCH, SPRINGFIELD - Dr . Meade Armstrong and Dr . Stanley Bal– lard, both of Cedarville College, ministered here recently . Our church has purchased prop– e rt y on which they plan to erec t a lovely new bui lding . BLESSED HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH, SPRINGFIELD - Two Cedarville Coll e ge teachers ministered here- Dr. Robert Gromacki and Dr . George Law lor. We were a lso privileged to have the Cedarville College Band. We voted to add Mr . and Mrs .
