Overseas Scholarship KENNETH E. COLE Mr. Kenneth E. Cole i a third year student of the Ohio St ate Coll ege of Medicine and a graduate of Ceda r– ville College. He is presentl y engaged in a three-month short-term medical missionary ministry in the Philippine Islands. Brother Ken is the son of R ev. and Mrs. Harry E. Core ( A ssoci– ate p astor of First Baptist Church in - Gallipolis, Ohio ). Ken received an over-seas scholarship under Medical A ssistance Programs known as DeWitt Wa llace International Fel lowship. While in the Philippines during February, M arch and April , he wil l study community medici ne unde r the watchful eye of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism med i– cal personnel. This wi ll be at the Baptist linic in Malaybaly, Bukid– non, Philippines . He was one of 20 medical students from 17 medical school s who re– ceived this over-seas scholarship . The First Baptist Church , Gallipolis, which is Ken 's "home church", contributed a large sum toward his needed fi– nancial support not covered by the scholarship. Our hearts are burdened today, as we think of the ripened, white, ha rves t fields where no one has gone with the blessed Go pel message. This past faJJ while in New Jersey we surveyed the fie ld of SickerviJle where at the pre ent time 10,000 new homes are heing built by one contractor a lone. This wi ll mean an inc rease of 30,000 people there very ho rtJ y a nd over 50,000 in a few years. Thi s pl ace does not have a true fundamental Bapt ist Church, but we do have two of our appointees, the Edwa rd Wood , who are pl a nn ing to go as soon a they get their support.
