During Alumni Hour Miss Jes- ica ~1inns spoke on her life and min– i tr)' a a missionary in Chad, Africa, and in Quebec, Canada. In recognition of her 35 :}'ears of outstanding mission– ar)· mini try under Bapti t t1 id-Mi - 100 • 1i Minns was pre ented the Alumnus of the Year Award b)' the pre ident of the Alumni A sociation, the Rev. 11ark Jack on. "The Singing Pastor'' from iles, 1fichigan~ Rev. Larry Whiteford. par– ticipated daily in a musical mini try and delivered one of the conference messages. Other special music was pre- ented by tudent soloists and groups. Enthusiastic students and guests at– tending the conference constantly packed the Jackson Hall auditorium to full capacity during the week. Over– flo\\' rooms \\ ere pressed into use on the first floor with the assistance of closed circuit TV. Among the \ ariations in the morn– ing sessions were two forums. The first. '"Is the Organized Church Rele– vant for Toda}?" v.,as conducted on \Vednesda)·, and the other ' 'Problems of Separatists in an Inclusi\ istic Age, .. \\ as held on Frida)' . All sessions exclusive of the music, 8 MARCH, 1972 r Through his ministry , God spoke to hearts were taped and will be made available to those wanting to purchase them to send to missionaries on the field s or for personal edification. Information concern ing tapes rnay be secured by writing Dr. John Millheim in care of the College. On Thursday J anuary 27, ' The Doctrine of the Word of God' ' by Thomas A. Thomas one of a series of books in the Biblical and Theological Studie , was released for sale on cam– pus. Mr. Thomas is associate profes– sor of theology at BBC and chairman of the Department of Apologetics. The book concerns itself with the tradi– tional views of Christianity as to the nature and origin of the Scripture . Although the book is intended as a text in Bible coll eges and theological seminaries, it is expected to be of va lue and help to Bible teachers and preachers as well. Rad io Messenger Kennet h Myers The A Cappella Choir is scheduled to leave for its spring tour in mid– March. Their travel s this year are con– centrated in the mid-western states of Indiana, Illinois Wisconsin, and Mich– jgan. The group under the direction of Donald Ellsworth wi ll be singing in the Euclid-Nottingham Baptist Church , Cleveland, on Thursday, March 16th . Director of Admissions, Leonard Vanderveld, reported that on January 31, 1972, the number of students ac– cepted for study at BBC for next fall had increased by 33113 % over that date one year ago. Director of Development, W. E. Franklin, reports that responses arc till coming on the "Living Building ' program launched last fall to rai e funds for a much needed multi-pur– pose building on campus.
