It will be a time of rich fellowship. Plan on attending. Your heart will be blessed ! Your OARBC State Missionary · Our State Missionary, Rev . Earl Umbaugh, has been working hard on our Debt Free Camps program. Rev. Norman Bosworth and others have been working along with him. A "full report" will be given at the State OARBC meeting in Portsmouth this month . He has continued with his work of establishing churches. In fact, new ones have been started at Carrollton, Mari– etta and Cr aigsvill e, West Virginia. Working wi th Rev. Don Winters (Me– mori al Bapti st Church , Columbus), Broth~r Umbaugh spent a full day explor ing the potenti al of beginning a new work at Logan . • The Word Of life THE OHIO INDEPENDENT BAPTIST - 1 .... He Faithfully Served His Lord Members a nd fri ends of the First Baptist Church in Medina ( Rev. R. Kenneth Smelser , pas to r ) feel greatly the loss of a very dear brother in Christ- Mr. Ray Folk . In writing us concerning Bro ther Folk, P as tor Smelser sa id , "Although most active in the G ideons, a work that he dearl y loved , yet , he alway was careful to put his c hurch in the right place. He was a man who dearl y loved the Lord and His work. He wa a fa ithful officer in the church and a lmost never missed any of the Board meetings. We ca n onl y rejoice in hi present reward. James McCoy The Emmanuel Baptist Church of Lor a in has called Rev. J ames McCoy to be their new pastor . He began his ministry in Lora in on August 27 th . Bro ther McCoy preached his first sermon in a German POW camp on Easter in 1945. He was rai ed in Illi– nois and at one time was a member of an Evangelical Uni ted Brethren church . He graduated from one of their schools. However , because of lhe extreme liberalism in this group , he left it. He served as the assistant pas tor in a Baptist Church in St. Loui s, Missouri . H e also pastored two churches in Illino is . Prior to coming to the Lorai n church he pa tored the Columbus Road Bapti t Church in Quincy, Ill inois . He has had further tr ai ning both at the Columbia Bi ble Co llege a nd at the Moody Bi ble In- titute . Rev. and Mrs. McCoy have four children . T hey are looking to the Lord to bless the work to which He ha called them in Lorai n. We are happy he i now a part of our OARB fel– lowship. AVAILABLE FO R . ..
