Across the State Jim and Carol Neely Nearly 375 members, friends and forrner member of Washington Heights Baptist galhered on Saturday, September 12, to honor Pa tor Jim and Carol Neely, who recentl y completed 23 faithful years of ervice at Washington Heights. Invited guests . included daughters Patty Zemmer, ]ante St reet, Sandy Lewi and sons Jin1 and Ken. Former WHBC pastors Dan Gelatt , son-in-law John Street and Larry Felzer parlic ipated in haring highli~hts of the Nee]ys min is try. Current Seni or Pas tor David Ki sner congratulated the Neely for their contributi on to the ministry of Washington Heights. Jim and Carol have had a great impact for the Lord whi le at WHBC. Specific mini stries include Shepherds Mini stry, n11ssion work teams worldwide, hospital and vis itation ministry , mu ic mi ni stry and a seni or adult program which has grown to inc lude over 200 seniors. A gift check was presenled to the Neelys, and an annual mission workteam scholarship wi ll be given in Jim 's name. The Conference theme was, "What God 's People Must Be." On Sunday and Wednesday, Dave and Darlene Murdoch n1ini stered in song. On Tuesday , the widows and widowers group, Trusting Heart , n1et pri or to the conference ses ·ion for a carry- in dinner and devo– ll ons. Denni Burn is pas tor at Faith Baptist. Vienna Baptis t ce lebrated 33 years of presenting the gospe l on October I I . Gues t speaker for the celebration was former pastor Rev. Frank Odor, with Mrs. Odor bringing the special mu ·ic in the evening service. George Hattenfield, pastor of Linwor th (Clintonville) Baptist, writes, "Thanks to the fai thful hand and blessing\ of God our church has seen not only pi ritual growth but also phy ical growth. God has led us to a new facil ity in one of the fas test growing areas of Columbus. Clintonville Baptist held its las t service in Clintonville September 13. Septen1ber 20 was the fi rst serv ice in Li nworth, a suburb of Colum– bus, hence changing the name to Linwor1h Baptist Church. The spri ng will lead us into a bui lding program as we construct an entirely new sanctuary . We eagerl y anticipate seeing how God will use us in th is new community.
