14 BEQUEST TO CITIZENS TO CLOSE PLACES OF BUSINESS. The loyal citizens of every class and profession are respectfully and earnestly invited to attend the Grand Mass Meeting, to be held on Tuesday next, 15th inst., at four o'clock, on Union Square. It is recommended that all places of business be closed at three o'clock, in order that those who desire to show their loyalty to the Government may be present. The Committee of Arrangements, together with speakers and invited guests, met at the Everett House, to receive their several badges, and at precisely four o'clock, the procession was formed, and, preceded by the band and headed by the Mayor, moved toward the designated stands, amid salvos of artillery and accompanied by thousands of citizens.
