14 but we will use every inducement to persuade these unfortunate men to find a home there, so as to separate the races, and all will go better than it can under any other system that we can devise. I say again, I hope that the demands of justice and good policy will be complied with; and by the consent of all, this willbe done; and if it is not done with the assent of all, I do hope it will be part and parcel of the great Republican platform ; for I think it consists with right, with justice, and with a proper regard for the welfare of these unfortunate men.
