Jorecuord This is the first issue of a yearbook in the name of Cedarville Baptist College and Bible Institute, but it represents two institutions that already have outstanding records of achievement in the educational field: Cedarville College, chartered in 1887, and the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland, chartered in 1942. Although Cedarville College has a Reformed Presbyterian background and the Bible Institute has always operated as an institution approved by the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, it is astounding to note the oneness of Spirit and purpose which has characterized each school. As an evidence of its standard, the seal of Cedarville College bears the inscription "pro corona et foedere Christi" (for the crown and covenant of Christ). This is in perfect accord with the doctrine of the Baptist Bible Institute which is definitely premillennial and therefore teaches the second coming of Christ when He shall be crowned and shall reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, (Revelation 19:12 "and on His head were many crowns"; Revelation 19:6 "And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"). This doctrine, as well as the assurance of salvation by grace through faith, is established upon the work of the Lord Jesus Christ whereby He provided a perfect, eternal salvation for every born-again believer through His own precious blood of the New Covenant, (Matthew 26:28"For this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins"). It is now the purpose of the Trustees and Faculty of the Cedarville Baptist College and Bible Institute to continue the good work of both institutions in the spirit and with the purpose set forth in the Scripture text on the Baptist Bible Institute seal, "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God." (Colossians 1:10). We of the "Miracle" staff pray that this yearbook will show to you that the Cedarville Baptist College and Bible Institute is here for the main purpose of bringing honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. 2

-- eAdicalion - We, the Senior Class of 1954 do dedicate this yearbook to the Reverend John H. Stoll. We do this in sincere appreciation of his many years of service to our class, the school, and most of all to the Lord Jesus Christ. "Professor" Stoll, as he is affectionately known to us, came to B.B.I. of Cleveland in 1951, the same year that our class began. He became our class advisor, and soon we learned that we could depend upon him constantly. Many times when we had class difficulties and personal problems, we could always look to him as our spiritual guide. We also enjoyed the fellowship that we had with him in the classroom around the Word of God. The hours spent there will not soon be forgotten. We feel sure that in the years to come "Professor" Stoll will continue to be a blessing to Cedarville Baptist College and to the students who will attend. Words cannot really express how we feel, but we hope and pray that he will understand in some small way the part he, as a true servant of the Lord, has played in our lives during the last three years. 5
Dr. James T Jeremiah Vice-President X V 0 As the acting President of Cedarville Baptist College we want to thank God for sending to us the Rev. James T. Jeremiah. Even with a full time pastorate he took over the executive responsibilities of our school and did an excellent job. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the Rev. Jeremiah for what he has done for our school. We know that the Lord will richly bless and reward him for his service here just as He has already blessed our school through His servant. Rev. C.C. Clawson, Dr. James T. Jeremiah, Dr. Arthur F. Williams, Mr. John Stoll. 6

21an Studenti DR. ARTHUR F. WILLIAMS Cedarville College passed into the hands of the Trustees of the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland less than one year ago; hence it has had a very short history under Baptist administration. We are grateful to God for our campus and for a splendid faculty of consecrated instructors, and as Dean of Students I have had opportunity to know something of the lives of the young people who came here. They are not angels, nor do they claim to be, but I am convinced that a finer student body is not to be found anywhere. What the future holds for Cedarville Baptist College depends largely upon how much our Regular Baptist constituency realizes the need for an institution where its young people may obtain a college education in an atmosphere in which Baptist distinctives are not lost sight of, and the issues of separation from denominational apostasy are not ignored. Such an institution cannot be built upon sentiment; it takes the consecrated dollars of God's people, together with much prayer and planning to produce the kind of a school that Regular Baptist leaders have earnestly desired for many years. It is to this end that the present student-body, faculty members, and trustees unite in an earnest appeal to the churches in our Regular Baptist Fellowship to place Cedarville on their budget and in their daily prayers. 10 11M

Schoof_S'onv Words by Music by Joy Taylor '49 Vivian Amsler Adapted by Norma McQuinn To wisdom's quiet dwelling place We come with eager hearts to trace The silver which we know is there And hidden wealth beyond compare We ask that we who have His call Who know that Jesus paid it all May own a deeper love for men For whom Christ died and rose again Chorus: Our paths have led to Cedarville Where we seek to do the Saviour's will We must impart the living Word And rescue those who have not heard Let us who have been amply fed Provide a dying world with bread 0let us be God's humble tools That He may use us and our school. In wisdom's dwelling there is peace, And joyful anthems find release. Our hands are privileged to hold God's perfect jewels, His gleaming gold, The Saviour's gems are ours to give, That lost impoverished souls may live. In wisdom's dwelling jewels abound, And Christ's unfailing grace is found. 74

II Timothy 4:1-5 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. mi•Pi 7....J'.*"". ialf

"Shh!!! Don't wake up the whole dorm!" These were words spoken in every dorm the day, or should we say, the middle of the night that the Seniors started on their "sneak"? They had many a heart attack before they finally "flew" out of Cedarville on their way to Kentucky. Although they left weary and worn and came back in the same condition, they really had a wonderful time (that is after they finally lost the Juniors) and they were very kind to bring back with them pictures of some of the sights they saw. So you, dear readers, are one of the privileged few who get to see what the Seniors saw on their SENIOR SNEAK! 100

eveninq School eavioion -- -._9n aye/anI In September 1941, Bible-Believing Baptist pastors discussed and set forth a plan for a Bible Institute for the Cleveland area. By July, 1942 a course of study for the first year was adopted and officers were elected. The school was to be held in the Educational Building of the Hough Avenue Baptist Church. Four years later on June 4, 1946 the first graduation class received their diplomas, having satisfactorily completed required work in the evening school. A day school was started in 1947 and continued as such until June, 1953 when the school moved to Cedarville, Ohio to establish the Cedarville Baptist College and Bible Institute. In July, 1953 the burning of the Hough Avenue Baptist Church caused the evening school to be moved to its present location in the Brookside Baptist Church, 3420 Henninger Road, Cleveland, Ohio. 111
