SOCIAL SCIENCE "... A life is beautiful and ideal, or the reverse, only when we have taken into our consideration the social as well as the family relationship." —Ellis Man through the ages has had social interaction with hisenvironmentas well as with other men. The purpose of the Social Science Department is to show the student the significance of this interaction. Courses are offered in both history and sociology since each area is important in order to understand the total picture of man's reactions and interaction. Once the overall view is achieved, courses of a more specialized nature are studied. 44
