The Board ofTrustees, Administration, Faculty and Students of Cedarville College are pleased to announce accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools April 9, 1975 College Motto: "For the Word ofGod and the Testimony ofJesus Christ" Rev. 1:2
Cedarville College . . .
. . . 21 years a Baptist Liberal-Arts college with a well-defined purpose. Now,as many other schools across the nation are on the decline, we find ourselves excelling in every area ... which is shown in the fact ofour recent accreditation. How is it that we have seen prosperity in a time when it is so rare? Well,by the Grace ofGod we've been able to stick to our founding principles. That foundation is stated in our college motto,"For the Word ofGod and the Testimony ofJesus Christ." Critics may claim such a world and life view is obsolete, but in reality it is vitally relevant to everyone. Christianity in its true form is not a religion,it is Truth oflife. Jesus Christ said,"I am the Way,the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me."God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. Belief, then,on Christ is the key. Romans 10:9 says,"That ifthou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Cedarville has tenaciously held to the Truth about Christ and man's need for Him, as set forth in the Bible, the Word ofGod. We must reflectively emphasize that we have expanded not merely by our own efforts; it is that God has seen fit to bless our institution. Realizing we serve the very Creator ofthe universe, we have applied ourselves diligently to providing a school of highest standards. We continue to carefully scrutinize each aspect ofour program . . 4
.. . and it has often required many hours at the planning table and a lot ofhard work. Some of it has been "sprucing-up" our campusimage ... 5
. . . but more often it has been sharpening-up our academic atmosphere, challenging our minds toward progress. 6
Yet we find still that the root ofour growth is in the Word of God and we strive to found the entire institution on it. Our hopes for the future lie in the Lord and our firmest beliefis that the "fear ofthe lord is beginning ofknowledge." The 1975 MIRACLE presents to you a glimpse ofCedarville College. 7
Cedarville College as a Christian institution now has a greater purpose than ever to influence young people for Christ. April 9, 1975 was a red-letter day for the Cedarville College family. At ten o'clock that morning we received the formal announcement that the college had been regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. For this recognition we gave thanks to God and appreciation to the many friends who have helped us reach this goal. There have been many who have faithfully prayed and worked long hours so that this recognition might become a reality. Special mention should be made of the trustees, of the faculty, of the members of the administration, and of the alumni and students who have been loyal to the college during the years before accreditation became a reality. It is a matter of great encouragement to us that while we were seeking accreditation, our Biblical position and spiritual standards have not been overlooked, but in fact strengthened. Working for accreditation and obtaining it has had only good effects on the college, its spiritual purposes, and academic program. Now that the college is regionally accredited, our students will have wider acceptance in graduate schools and be able to transfer credits to other schools with greater ease. Accreditation does not mean that we have arrived at total fulfillment, but it does mean we are a good college and urges us to strive to be a better one. "With Paul we can say,"I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do . . I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:14,15). Let us concentrate on this"one thing." James T.Jeremiah

Dr. George L.Lawlor 10
1 George L. Lawlor is a man whose godly influence has deeply touched the lives of many young Bible students. Living in and around Pennsylvania most of his life, he did not come to a saving knowledge of Christ until he was thirty years of age. Graduating with a music degree from Ithica College in 1929, his main interest and profession in the early years of his life was in the field of music. He played the clarinet and saxaphone in various realms of musical work for almost twenty years. At the age of twenty-three he married Mildred Rex, and through the years they had three children. Mrs. Lawlor received Christ as her Savior two years before her husband. In 1938 through the prayers of many Christians and the witness of a pastor and evangelist in the Grace Brethren Group, George Lawlor received Christ also. The pastor faithfully worked with him and instructed him in the Word. By January of 1941 Lawlor felt the call of God to Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana. He received his BD in 1944 and his THM in 1955. In the years between, he pastored four churches and taught in three Bible Institutes. The family suffered the loss of Mrs. Lawlor as wife and mother in 1951. After pastoring more churches, Lawlor came to Cedarville in 1957 where he has taught Greek, New Testament, and Contemporary Theology. He received his doctorate in 1965 from Grace Theological Seminary. In 1969 he was honored as Faculty Member of the Year at Cedarville. Dr. Lawlor has authored several books, including a commentary on the book of Jude, THE BEATITUDES ARE FOR TODAY, and ALMAH. Presently, Dr. Lawlor, though in semi-retirement, enjoys teaching Elementary Greek at Cedarville College and the Xenia Bible Institute. In addition, he is writing for the Ohio Independent Baptist and is in the process of writing two more books. In view of his accomplishments and influences upon many students, we, the Miracle Staff have chosen to honor him by dedicating the 1975 MIRACLE to Dr. George L. Lawlor. "Thou, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard from among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men,who shall be able to teach others also." II Timothy 2:1-2 11 I
While attending a youth camp in 1924, Rev. Mead C. Armstrong recieved Christ as his Saviour, and in 1942during special meetings in a small mission church in Tidioute, Pa., he was called into the ministry. Mr. Armstrong received his Bachelor's Degree from the Grove City College, Grove City, Pa., and he received his Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949., He served 13 years as a high school teacher in Eldred, Pennsylvania from 1929-31 and in Tidioute, Pa. from 193142. His heart was prepared for the call of God through correspondence courses from Moody BibleInstitue and other intensive Bible studies which revealed to him the apostasy of the church of which he was a member. Because of his call to the gospel ministry, he resigned his teaching position in the public school and moved his family to Maine, New York and entered the Baptist Bible Seminary in September of 1942. Mr. Armstrong became the assistant to Dr. Emery H. Bancroft, Dean of Baptist Bible Seminary, and Professor ofTheology, for the summer of 1944 and continued in this capacity until Dr. Bancroft's homegoing in November, 1944. For the remainder of that year he taught Elemental and Systematic Theology and Christian Evidences at the same time fulfilling class requirements for his senior year. Upon graduation from Baptist Bible Seminary, June 4, 1945, he was invited to join the faculty as Professor of Theology. He was ordained to the Christian ministry by the First Baptist Church ofJohnson City, New York, June 18, 1945. He served at the Baptist Bible Seminary as Professor of Theology from 1942-1962; Registrar, 1947-62; and basketball coach, 1956-61. In 1960 he revised Dr. Bancroft's Elemental Theology book, one of the texts used today by Cedarville College. In March of 1962 Rev. Armstrong was called to the pastorate of the First Baptist Church of Hallstead, Pennsylvania. He served in the Council of Ten ofthe Pennsylvania Association of Regular Baptists from 1963-67. He joined the faculty of Cedarville College in September, 1967, where he has served with dedication to Christ and concern for the spiritual and academic welfare of of the students. Seven of his former students at B.B.S. are presently serving as faculty members of Cedarville College. Two of his former students are members of the staff and one is a member of the Board of Trustees. He counts it a high privilege to have had a part in the training of hundreds of choice servants of the Lord active in many areas of Christian endeavor all over the world Through the years Mrs. Armstrong has prayed for and served with her husband, making his ministry for Christ a great blessing to many, both in the church and in the schools where he has served. It speaks well for the Armstrongs that all five of their children are born-again Christians. Certainly, in light of the accomplishments of Dr. Mead Armstrong, it can be seen that he is well worthy of being a dedicant of the 1975 MIRACLE.

Soccer Varsity Soccer Team: Dave Slusher, Thales Nabring, Warren Gifford, Ken Howard, Hank Diaz, Tom Benefiel, Merle Ziegler, Larry Bollback, John Dannenberg, Tim Stoner, Clay Auwarter, Jim Turner, Coach McGillivray, FRONT: Steve Campbell, Ric Auwarter, Don Bartemus, Don Hare,Ron Salvatore, Evandro Batista, John Cavey,Dave Stoner, Paul Kester,Joe Bartemus,Joe Jenkins,Curt Riess. Cedarville's long quest for the national playoffs finally culminated this year in a 6th place finish at the NAIA tournament. After losing a tough match to Erskine, 1-0, the Jackets came back to whip George Mason, 3-0. In a battle for fifth, Cedarville fell to Keene State 3-1 after leading at the halfon a goal by Larry Bollback. This sixth place finish in the nation plus a ranking of tenth among all Ohio Colleges were goals the Cedarville College athletic department has had for some time. The Jackets were particularly outstanding defensively thisyear, holding opponents to an average of 1.26 goals a game, the lowest in the school's history. Dave Slusher recorded 7 shutouts for the 'ville. The 13 wins were a record as well as the 56 goals with Bollback accounting for 22 of those. The team looks to be even stronger next year as Bollback is the only departing player on first year Coach McGillivray's squad. Soccer/109
