1988 Miracle Yearbook

Class Gift rhe 1988 Senior class chose The Landscaping Project and The Second Generation Investment Fund as its gift to Cedarville College. As the trees, planted during the 1988 spring quarter, grow and gradually improve the grounds, The Second Generation Investment Fund will grow and strengthen the endowment of Cedarville College. This fund will benefit Cedarville College by providing tuition for children of alumni. The Landscaping Project was paid for by the Senior class fund and by seniors willing to give their room deposits. The Second Generation InvestmentFund will be invested by the seniors over a three year period;each student will give according to his economic situation. The Senior class was led by President Tim Beach. Beach believed that the idea of a class identity "falls away entering the junior year. I, along with the other officers, desired to hold onto that and use it to foster unity." Attaining this identity was easier during the senior year. According to Beach, participation was greater, and the officers had a better understanding of their responsibilities. Unity was a key factor in enabling the Senior class to present both the'88 Trees and the Second Generation Investment Fund in conjunction with the Class of 1963 and future graduation classes. Through unity and identity, the Class of 1988 will leave its own unique mark on Cedarville College. Dr. Dixon received the gifts from the class of 1988 with much enthusiasm as he was literally presented with a future Cedarville Campus tree. 52 Senior Officers/Class Gift The physical plant was commissioned to oversee the actual landscaping and planting of the trees from The Landscaping Project. Students were able to watch trees planted daily for a period of about three weeks. Senior class President Tim Beach.along with the other officers, presented the class gifts during Senior Chapel on May 24th.
