Not only was this a great season interms of the victories but also because the team experienced close unity and strong friendship among the players like they had never seen before. As Coach Bob Fires puts it, "This was a dream year. The way we played and the way we enjoyed each other will always be a blessing." After a very tough season just two years ago, this was definitely a "dream year!" In the NCCAA district championship game, Cedarville faced Taylor University, who had beaten Cedarville the previous year in the same situation. In a very close and exciting game, Cedarville defeated Taylor, giving Cedarville the championship title and a trip to Tennessee for the NCCAA national tourney.
